Our childhood dog passed away at the hospital, he was a close family member. As far as I understand dogs become human once they are reincarnated in Sikhi. So does that mean we should celebrate and not mourn the death of our dog(brother) since he is now given the chance to become human? what do you guys think of dog death, and what is the best way to pray and hope for his best in future.

thanks

I'm not sure what to think. Dogs surpass humans in many ways in my experience.

Either they get the chance provided by this body in the next or go straight to heaven as the saying goes.

Everything has to go, cats, flies, spiders, dogs and yes, us humans.

We don't know the dog's next life, the cycle is not in a specific order and is not known to man.

so uhm

just wait i guess?

:p

Guest Jee,

It is your attachment with your dog  which makes you think /feel,  it will be reincarnated as a human being, but frankly speaking there is no such calculation, to say that after this, that will happen so and so.

That is all our manmat.

You see, human birth is got after the summary of good karam in several lives.

To derive the real benefit from being into sikhee, is not by being born or staying in a sikh family, it is more than that, it is attaching our soul consciousness to that Primal and Supreme Truth, which is Wahiguru Akal Purukh, through bhakti.

If that was the case of being born in sikh environments, let us take for example Prithvi Chand, who was the eldest son  of  Chauthvee Patshahee Sree Guru Ram Das, and  brother to Fifth Patshahee Sree Guru Arjun Dev, but in spite of being so close to Them, living with Them, having Their darshan the most, but that, did not stop him from being a wicked donkey....

So you see, it is not the physical closeness that counts, but our association with that  permanent eternal Truth, Wahiguru Akal Purukh, through the bhakti of His simran, which only humans  can do.

No doubt, you can pray for your dog, for prayers do not go in waste, they soothe both, to the one who prays, and the one for whom we pray for.

Stay blessed.

Sat Sree Akal.
