Brother singhunit,

howsoever ridiculous this Radhe Maa appear  to be,  but by donating, she has made a good karam for herself. Nature does not limit anyone to commit karmas, it is totally up to us,  to do good or bad.

And karmas are the same for all, be it any creature from any  color, caste or creed.

I do not agree with your comment that our people being so stupid, rather I would say, they are most helpful, humble, noble,  and with a  big good heart, all these virtues bestowed on us as blessings, by our Guru Sahiban;  for anybody who follows sikhee, gets imbued with these virtues whether deeply or lightly, according to each one´s sharda and purity of mind, but definitely impregnated with them.

Stay blessed.

Sorry I disagree with you. She received VIP treatment with her security - our people are stupid for allowing this. Rest of the sangat patiently waiting to have darshan of guru ji and she gets to skip the line with media making a big deal of it? Remember when Indira visited and Sant Kartar Singh Bhindrawale remained seated and made a point he did so as the king of kings was already there. No issues with her visiting but my issue is with the singhs running around after her there

What's the point of doing these things if the person has impure intentions? She came with an army of subordinates, she was given preferential treatment and she's dressed like she's a newly wed bride.

The intent is just as important as the action, and its pretty clear her intent was browny points.

While I'm not a fan of VIP's skipping the line, that's quite a bit different from people standing for Indira Gandhi in Guru's Darbar.

I agree that the Sangat should not make a big deal out of "VIPs" visiting, because that makes it seem like the "VIP" is more important than Guru Sahib.

If you are saying that skipsies should be banned, then they should be banned for all, right? Or would skipping be fine for Trudeau, but not for Radhae Maa?

Is that because people think she dresses like a prostitute?

I agree that she made a big show and all, but why target her out for special condemnation? That's what every celebrity does during their Darbar Sahib visits.

I know that people think she dresses like a prostitute, but even if she actually were a prostitute instead of merely dressing like one, so what? I think in her mind she's the bride of God, so she dresses like it.

Gurbani records that prostitutes (Ganika, Pingula) also were saved.

If I did not commit any sins, O Infinite Lord,

ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਹੁੰਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

How would You have acquired the name, 'Redeemer of sinners'? ||1||Pause||

ਗਈ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਿ ਬਿਬਾਣਿ ਚੜ੍ਹਿ ਨਾਉ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਛੋਤਿ ਅਛੋਤਾ।

Due to the elixir of name (of the Lord) she (Ganika) became totally devoid of sins and was lifted to the heavens.

ਥਾਉ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਮਾਣੁ ਮਣੋਤਾ ॥੨੧॥

The name (of the Lord) is the last refuge of the shelterless ones.

I do agree that the SGPC is entirely too obsequious towards celebrities, and falls over itself to extend special treatment to them over the regular sangat. Isn't the main point of Harimander Sahib that we're all equal?

That said, I'm uncomfortable about special opprobrium directed toward Radhae Maa.

All Skipsies should be banned for everyone unless it's the obvious - elderly and disabled. No one is a VIP in front of guru ji. My problem is not with the way she dresses or whether she is genuine, my issue is with the singhs running around after her!

Out of interest - would we get the VIP treatment at a mandhir?

obviously she has in the back of her mind some love for her roots and thus donated to guru ka langar , but she could have done that gupt just like thousands of others do everyday . It is SGPC and her entourage who are contacting the media to spread 'the news' . People are getting it mixed up she didn't do pun daan ,she  was recipient of Guru ji's kirpa to serve sangat. Skipsies should be allowed for infirm, handicapped , or official foreign govt visitors (to allow for security detail to not disturb sangat)  local and Indian govt know the score so should come and be least disruptive not like Modi who stopped kirtan darbar (for which he should be banned)

Bro, all celebrities are the same in this respect. I've seen a documentary about her, in-fact during the time she was making the big splash in the news I was following it closely as it was interesting and intriguing. Anyone's redeemable but in her case she's made quite a following based entirely off the backs of gullible people, that really isn't good for her or the people.

from what I've heard she's hailed as the incarnation of Durga,  but from the way she appears and dresses (as well as the footage of her dancing in a casino) this really isn't the case imo. Her dress sense is exactly like the typical moortis of various Matas in India, I don't think she dresses like a prostitute based on that. I think she's purposely using that as a means to rise up and confuse the masses.

But i don't understand why they get the media involved! all these babeh/mata's, celebs, politicians etc why do they invite the media and news channels when they come to Harmandir Sahib? I don't understand why SGPC  allows this. I went Harmandir sahib in December and people were running around with selfie sticks, posing etc. In fact i even saw a photo on the net of a man proposing to a woman at Harmandir Sahib, he was on on his knee and holding a ring for her! People are making it into a tourist attraction and all these politicians and celebs use it for publicity

That's true, it's also positive press for Sikhi though.

    • Monatosingh replied. The rope is strategic in many ways. Out in the wild and need to make weapons, you may need rope. Need to make a little makeshift roof, you need rope. Need to tie anything together for the purpose of surviving, you will always need rope.   Dori also saves the issue of gatra breaking, etc
    • Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Parkash is disputed between 3 Dates Friday, Katak Sudi 15 Pooranmashi, 1526 Bikrami (Lunar) Saturday, Vaisakh Sudi 3, 1526 Bikrami (Lunar) (Not Pooranmashi) Monday, 1 Vaisakh, 1526 Bikrami (Solar Date) (Pooranmashi) There is debate on this issue, I recommend reading the document mentioned in the OP. Also PLS, Benti for everyone, when referring to Gurpuabs, pls use Bikrami or Mool Nanakshahi (Which are basically Bikrami dates) dates, don't use English dates as they are not accurate as the original. We need more people to start using Desi Months and days, Barah Maha Parro!
    • Serious question though, how would one use a Dori Kirpan practically? Like how would it be used? I think thats why some people say its just for show because maybe you can't use it well? I wouldn't know.
    • Sometimes we use the phrase "Just do it" in the Dojo. Other times we say "Shut up and train".  Heh.
    • Exactly. Oh, so it's not a made-up saakhi? Even if it were, it would be good. It sounds vaguely like the saakhi of Bhai Banno. I agree that it is unreasonable to demand discounts of shopkeepers because "it's for a religious purpose". They can't verify that. You're trading on your long beard to make the other guy think you're "religious". You're just setting it up for unscrupulous people with beards to come by and abuse it, which then gets found out, and then people lose faith in Sikhs and Sikhi. On the other hand, it would be OK for a gurdwara to put out the call for construction materials, legal services, accounting services, medical services (free medical camps). Then people can verify it's for a religious purpose because they're giving directly to the gurdwara. And then sawmill owners can drop off wood at the gurdwara, marble showroom owners can drop off marble, etc. Or people in fields not in demand can buy the stuff (possibly at cost) and have it delivered to the gurdwara.
