Your right. From memory in book I had read they had stated nehru, sardar patel and lal bahadur shastri were influential in forming the R&AW but it was actually under Indira gandhi's watch during the late 1960s that it was actually created and acknowledged to exist.

After number of misteps-back peddling, one would think the-rookie jagmeet singh be careful, he just demoted a very senior ndp mp last week while chilling out at juno awards with his wife, at this point his caucus seems divided, he better bring unity to his caucus soon otherwise he is gone from party. FYI Federal party just need 57% disapproval/approval (i m not sure which one comes first)  votes then next ndp convention is held for next leader.

Things doesn't look good for him, i'be surprised if he last until summer let alone next federal election. Dumping him it will be bad news for ndp and even more bad news for conservatives as they no longer can splits votes in gta and have majority in next election

Anyway whatever outcome be, he be good example/case study for future political aspirant sikhs  what not to do, what is good and bad optics, how to prevent from self inflicted wounds.

I am sorry can't blame racism for this one, media also gave him fair chance as listed in orginal post, also ndp is super far left, he is given fair chance like any Canadian would have in true canadian democracy and he is about to blow this one way.!

He reversed the decision of demoting his mp early this week, now he is bit in calm waters with his caucus and has their support along with senior members. FYI they are both conservatives they may have underlining vested interest to get jagmeet singh up to speed to split ndp/liberal votes.
