Examples of Peshi being used historically?

I have a question.

Is it only till recent maryada that Peshi has been introduced? (Where you commit one of the 4 kurehits and you have to retake amrit)?

Has it been written in any rehatnama or has it been written down historically in any book?

Gurbani mentions:

ਚਾਰੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਉਨਿ ਅਘ ਕੀਏ ਹੋਆ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੁ ॥

if you have committed the four great sins and other mistakes; even if you are a murderous fiend

ਪੋਥੀ ਗੀਤ ਕਵਿਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਕਰਨਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥

who has never taken the time to listen to sacred books, hymns and poetry

ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤਰਿਆ ॥੪॥

-if you then come to remember the Supreme Lord God, and contemplate Him, even for a moment, you shall be saved. ||4||

The sovereignty of Akali Phula Singh's Khalsa Panth over Ranjit Singh was made clear on a particular event when Ranjit Singh brought dancers for his grandson's wedding. The community was upset with Ranjit Singh for this action. When Ranjit Singh visited Amritsar for his daily listening of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib nobody spoke to him. Ranjit Singh could not bear nobody talking to him so he asked for forgiveness. Akali Phula Singh being the leader of the panth ordered Ranjit Singh to be flogged and he immediately agreed.[83] Upon getting in the position to receive the whipping with a naked back and leaning against the tamarind tree in front of the Akal Bunga (Akal Takht) Akali Phula Singh asked if it was enough that the Maharajah was ready to receive the punishment and should be forgiven without getting the actual whipping. He asked the Sangat who had gathered around if they agreed that he should be forgiven that they should respond with the Sat Sri Akal battle cry in response the entire Sangat cried out Sat Shri Akal in approval.[84]

Hanji.

I have already heard of this historical event but it doesn't prove that he was punished for going against amrit.

What? Then what does it prove?

You were asking about peshi. Peshi means presentment.

Presenting yourself before the Sikh power (Jathedar of Akal Takhat, or possibly local panj piyare).

You present yourself, and that's peshi.

Why do you say that peshi was recently introduced? First of all, do you even accept the concept of bajjer kurehit?
