I don't want to do nitnem I just want to have amrit. I'll decide if I want to do nitnem after taking amrit.

You don't get to put conditions on the Guru. Only those persons are given Amrit who promise to stay within the Guru's command unconditionally.

Mai Bandhaa Bai Khareedh Sach Saahib Maeraa ||

I am Your purchased slave, O True Lord Master.

Raag Thitee Gauri Guru Arjan Dev

How can a slave dictate conditions to his master?

A Sikh is meant to be a sacrifice himself to his Guru:

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ॥

This Gur Ko Ho Khanneeai Jin Madhhusoodhan Har Naam Sunaaeiaa ||

I am every bit a sacrifice to the Guru, the Lover of Nectar, who has revealed the Name of the Lord.

Raag Vadhans Guru Amar Das

As shown above, the Guru gives the Name to the seeker. The seeker sacrifices himself for the Name:

ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਵੰਞਾ ਤਉ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੇ ਨਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Ho Vaaree Vannjaa Khanneeai Vannjaa Tho Saahib Kae Naavai ||1|| Rehaao ||

I am a sacrifice, cut apart into pieces, a sacrifice to Your Name, O Lord Master. ||1||Pause||

Raag Vadhans Guru Nanak Dev

And you, Mr. Special, don't want to be bothered to do Nitnem?

A person who does not accept the love of the Guru's command into his heart can never know the sweetness of Amrit.

so why do you want to take amrit , if you don't want to follow Guru ji's rehit you are not some gorey general(Dwyer) who can pick and choose what bits of rehit you want to follow ? Start practicing the rehit outside of amrit as people suggest then if and only if you are fully dedicated to Guru ji then take the next step.

Because I just want to try it and see what happens. I'll decide after if i wanna do nitnem.

According to rehat a Sikh should daily “do path” of 5 banis in morning that are Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib , Tav Prasad Sawayie, Chaupai Sahib and Anand sahib. Similarly for evening rehras sahib and at night Sohila sahib.

Are you referring to the rehatnama or SRM? I don't recall any rehatnama stating to do 5 baania, correct me if I am wrong.

rehit nama from Guru Gobind Singh ji is 5 banian in morning minimum and Sodar in sunset Kirtan Sohila before sleeping .

Guru ji's bachan from before Khalsa Saajna diwas was  old nitnem  which always had Japiji sahib and Anand Sahib full Plus Sodar and Kirtan Sohila  , to which he added Jaap Sahib when the bani was brought down to Earth when he was 19 years old ...so became Japji Sahib , Jaap Sahib and Anand Sahib in morning plus Sodar  and Kirtan Sohila

the worrying thing about SRM is that anyone following it will not even be doing nitnem of pre-Khalsa days  , I cannot quote the exact pangti  but I remember that I was told that those who partook of water or food prior to doing paat of jap jaap would be reborn as 'bista ki kiram' having lost this janam (worms of fecal matter)

Can you send me a link to the rehit nama of Guru Gobind Singh Ji? I have read about it and I believe Guru Ji did make one but are you referring to 52 hukams?

Jhatka maryada posted one but I can't find the full version of it anywhere.

turning lemons into skujnvi  here and sharing the love of the Guru ji ^_^

I would still like to see the rehatnama of Kalgidhar Patshah Akaali Guru Gobind Singh Ji Dasmesh Pita.

If you were referring to 52 hukams please let me know. As far as I know, I haven't read a rehatnama that states to do 5 baania. I respect 5 baania, not contradicting it.

I do believe that there is a hukamnama/rehitnama, lot's of sangat have mentioned it but I would personally like to read it whole, not small snippets from it.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
