If you want to go with "the paintings are not accurate", then why did you post them?

It takes about 33 milliseconds to take a picture on a smartphone. It takes quite a bit longer to paint on a canvas. Which means that it's unlikely that the painter painted these paintings with these people just standing like statues for him under the hot Indian sun.

So perhaps, you'd like to go with "the painter just painted some stuff from memory, and he jumbled a bunch of stuff up". If so, what is it exactly that you wanted to prove?

 

Finally, what's also funny is the first painting you chose to post is a woman wearing blue clothes with what seems to be a keski underneath, another words, bana.

Which results in a spectacular own goal for you.

 

Note: I'm not the one who brought the issue of turbans for women up. I'm not even saying keski is a kakkar. All I'm saying is far from disproving keski, your evidence ends up supporting it.

Maybe I should have been clearer regarding my comment about the wedding being null & void..... the point I was trying to make is that people seem to think that he has committed a big sin by marrying a non amritdhari..... which is not the case.... the forcing of amrit on women comes with the pressure of facial hair & even more recently wearing a dastar.... it was never meant to be that way.

From what I can see I do not think the women in all those pics are wearing keski... rather the hair is tied in a high bunga style.... local women around Hazur Sahib still tie their hair up in this way & then wear a chunni on top. 

If I have hurt or offended the sentiments of ‘amritdhari females’ then I whole heartedly apologise.... that was not my intention.

I'm not convinced it's a keski. My grandmother used to wear a head ornament that used to be placed under the chunni, the name escapes me now but will try and find out what it was called, something like this, but they came in different sizes, may explain the protrusions depicted.

The other thing you'll find in older paintings is the jewellery adorned by the women, something which is frowned up by certain quarters. I personally have no love for gold or shiny things and luckily neither does the Mrs, but it is of interest to see how the image expectations of women in stricter circles has developed over time.

The paintings speak volumes. It's clear it was normal for the women to wear jewellery in those days. Some men had earrings but in this day and age will just look camp on a Singh ?

Good points. It's just annoying when people go on an anti-jewellery crusade, often times quoting Gurbani way the hell out of context or quoting Dhan Sant Singh Baba Ji Dharmicwale to justify their bulltutti. It's like wanna wear it wear it, don't wanna then don't, otherwise stfu.

This black and white malarkey does so much damage.

saggi -phul my Mum told me about that , but also my Nani ji and Mum said that apnian covered their bodies fully including ghagra over salwars  so maybe some imaginative orientalism is in these pictures too . Nath was sign of sexual slavery common to hindu and muslim  custom I doubt they would be sporting stuff like that on a daily basis especially with kids on hip , Ever had a babe pull you r dhardi , same for women with chumkey or nose ornaments.

Its not about someone being amritdhari.  It is about an amritdhari marrying a non amritdhari girl and its about jagmeet Singh.  Well most likely not Singh anymore as he literally made his bed and became a patit.

Following the teaching of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji of amritdhari marrying an amritdhari is not stupid at all.  Its a mark of obedience to the Guru.  

Who is attacking him.  Stop getting all emotional.  Find a chair, sit down and take some deep breaths.  Maybe even take a chill pill and understand the crux of the discussion here.
