Yeah.

Maybe not 100, but very close. I'm not talking about whether 100% of them have memorized the Koran, or do Namaz 5X a day. But rather stuff like standing up for their kaum when required. So take someone like Gigi Hadid, an almost totally Westernized girl whose father is Palestinian and mother white, and who lives the standard model life, and shows almost every inch of her body.

When it comes down to it, she sides with the Islamic "ummah":

'You're a f**king <banned word filter activated>' - Gigi Hadid calls out Islamophobic tweet after New York terrorist attack

Not the case with our people.

Yeah, good advice. I think the Amritdharis should extend and olive branch, and the monas should meet them halfway. Granted, some won't give up the shraabi lifestyle, but at least they can acknowledge the goodness of the Sikh way.

There are plenty of people of a Sikh background that back up Sikhi even if they don't follow Sikhi.

I don't understand where this perception comes from.

In the end of the day we are a quam, no matter what jatha or how religious or not you are.

the gigi hadid example is exactly what we need to aim for, lets face it, our people are following the same trends as these people, all you gotta do is look at a lot of 'sikh girls' on instagram and you will see they living their life this way. but somehow we gotta engrain the sikhi seed in there somewhere so that when things like the jaggi issue arise, we have got the common masses supporting. or if they do end up with goreh kaleh etc, they be proactive in promoting sikhi to some extent. this may sound radical, but atm our common masses are so far from the path its incredible.

Yes, there are many people who defend the kaum even if they personally aren't very strict in Sikhi.

The point though, is that there are many among us who don't  back the quam. Compare that to Muslims where they are very, very united.

You do have a point there.

Muslims are more tribal and have "us v them" mentality.

We are less tribal but we have an inverted tribal system, where place the needs of the "other " above our own.

It takes a heck of a lot for our people to unite, it tends to be from existential threat and where we have some skin in the game.

The problem of unity stems from the lack of trust in our people.
