Post 4 of this thread even gave you  a media link.  Moral of that story is that stories, like keys, are sometimes right in front of your eyes but you only realised that after you've searched high and low in other places for them.

I'm really sorry Simran but I don't think you've quite grasped the things I said in my opening post. Homeless Sikhs dying on the streets of London, Athens and Paris is not unusual even that requires a spot on the 10 o'clock news. It's been happening all the time and will continue to happen. You, as a human, do not need a newspaper, news network or preacher telling you what you should care about and when you should care. Your conscience alone should be enough to tell you what is right and what is wrong. The overall point of this thread is to get people like you to listen to your own heart....and not rely on preachers who are getting rich telling others how to live their own private lives but cry 'nindya' anyone dares to question their own. Listen to your heart. Listen to your heart-beat. Understand how that heart=beat is what connects you too all other living beings. That connection is in spirit Waheguru. Care about that connection with othes.

No need to belittle me like that. I simply said it’s not in the media, such as the Sikh/Punjabi media, as they normally share things like that.

People like me? You’ve got a nerve judging me, maybe take a look at yourself first before spouting things you know nothing about me. I’m very well aware what’s going on in the world with homeless people. You’re very rude btw, you should listen to that nimrata inside yourself also and learn to talk to others properly. Have a nice day bro.

You know what Jagsaw_Singh, I’m not going bother to comment on your posts next time, because you go OTT and thanks for your lecture, but no thanks. Lecture somebody else that you want to belittle because I’ve ended it here and not going reply back to your next unmeaningful reply to me.

Not to be callous to anyone's suffering but the pictures that go with the article aren't of youth

Not to be so damning of your inability to read Gurjant Agmostic  but the very first sentence of this thread refers to "men". You've convinced your own mind that it's about "youths". That is a bit weird.

The writing is weird too

The style of writing is what puts food on my kid's table my friend and pays the bills. The same style makes Barclay Ronay win football writer of the year...year after year. Granted it's ideal target audience is the more educated and imaginative strata of society but the only thing stopping you reaching that intellectual level is the literary imagination limitations you are placing on yourself.

I think everyone here is compassionate to that kind of thing

You obviously haven't spent enough time here.

but what is the proposed solution?

I already alluded to what the solution is in the message just before you asked 'what the solution is. That's a bit weird but to recap:  Make compassion a routine in your life. There are way of becoming a compassionate human being and once you are, you begin to feel the pain and suffering of all. Sarbat da bhalla. It becomes a habit. For example I don't eat meat...I drive a hybrid...I bake my own bread...I source food locally....I make decisions on what to buy based on how far it had to be transported to get to the shop and what the conditions were for the people that made it. Once compassion becomes an integral part of your life you feel for what other human beings are going through. You're not at ease with other's pain so you don't wait for the BBC and Sikh Channel to cover it...you pro-actively seek out the truth. You do what you can. You understand that your money and privilege only has worth and meaning if it can be used to help others. Men shiver to death because not enough of us had compassionate natures.

Calm down....take a few deep breaths.....and Go back to my post. Try and find any place where I said "people like you" and then when you realise I said no such thing to you feel a little bit embarrassed and come back to me and apologise Simran.

Veer ji. I agree. It has long been routine. I work helping the homeless in my community now, among other things. I mean how we going to help in france or other places we aren't?

True. They also shiver without blankets. I'm not in europe, maybe you could do a clothing drive?

The carmelite nuns taught us how to do this in our area.

Can't vouch for the video quality but there are a 100 ones like it.

Maybe we could start a website with a lot of tips like this, and then geo specific sections where people can upload specific information about surviving homeless or hard up in those areas.

Again I think you speaking to a compassionate community already, that is why people are saying well...what to actually do about it?

Guest London Jawaan, seriously brother....devoting your entire history on Sikhsangat to following me from thread to thread just to throw abuse is a sign of an extremely problematic mental issue. I implore you, for your own mental well being, to get this problem seen to.

Now....I'll ignore the abuse and remind you that I am a committed socialist. My whole ethos is against the accumulation of money. I feel blessed for what I have...i.e two legs, two arms, two eyes that can see, a roof over my head, a loving wife and beautiful children. I live my life in the knowledge he (Waheguru) who made nature also made the natural laws of justice. According to his laws of natural justice he, having already given me so much, really should take some of the comfortable things I have away from me rather than give me more. True justice (waheguru) dictates that I, who have all those things, while others are blind, hungry or without shelter, need to have some things taken away from me and given to others more in need. So if you ask me what I do the answer is that I live my life according to my needs not my wants and bring my children up to live the same. As long as our basic needs are met both myself and my wife donate every penny we have left over to those in needs. We both also have a second part-time job that we took precisely so that every penny earned from that job can go to the needy.

And apparently you profit from it?

Lololol

No not 'profit' my friend....a living. I write for a living. I 'profit' from the good feeling I get inside when I know I've helped someone. That feeling is God.

Simran, have you calmed down a little bit now and realised how wrong you were ?  Have you realised how when I talked about people looking for their keys high and low only to find it was right in front of them the whole time I was talking about all of us human beings because we all do it...and it wasn't an attack on you personally ?

I was calm in the first place. It’s you who has issues with giving lectures. No I don’t think I was wrong in anything I wrote. In fact I think you have a lot of ahankar and you wrote what you did, people like me, so that was directed at me.

Jo kuch karda apne leh karda a, mehne dehn di koi lorh nai. Tu sochda tu apay karda sara kuch te hor koi kuch karda nai. But thanks for saying it wasn’t a personal attack, but then you should have worded it better if it wasn’t.

Jagsaw, Once again I believe you're talking right out of your jagsaw.

My purpose on this forum is not to follow your around "Throwing abuse" it is to challenge bukwaas when I see it. And youre not the only one spouting it....

I will put it like this for your basic mind to understand : if you went to the gurdwara and just found diahorrea everywhere all over the floors, would you not have something to say? Would you not ask the person who opened their bowels all over the place with no consideration, what in the hell they were doing? This is the same, it's just that is your e-diahorrea on this e-sikh forum.

I note that yet again, predictably you have completely ignored the question that directly questions your earlier b0llox. You have shared your intolerant, extremist views in the past that a mona is not a sikh (dumb assertion in my view but hey ho), and now you suddenly have discovered an overwhelming empathy for families of those monay and refer to them as Sikhs. So answer the damn question you c0ck, are they Sikhs or arent they?

And engage your narcissistic, controversy seeking, low intellect, Pakistan sympathising, exaggerating, hyperbole  brain and explain how that is not entirely contradictory?

And as for seeing a doctor, I suggest you do so urgently, as its bizarre that every time you open your mouth, either some testicles or diahorrea comes out of it. It could be a miracle.

And I would suggest, you're not any type of committed socialist. What you are is a champagne socialist with your hybrid car, and not against the accumulation of money at all, but rather jealous of others who have had academic success affording them decent career success.
