do you believe that  Guru pita ji wants us to fix on dates or  the Gurbani , the parkash purabs or the rehit?

why are we making the same mistakes as the Christians they never used to celebrate birthdays now it's all about the birthday , they were told to not attach to the created but the Creator they couldn't stop themselves from falling in that pit and now we Sikhs are copying like lemmings and jumping off the same cliff.

Even I've seen misguided sikhs getting cakes made up to celebrate their kid's birthday , prakash diwas of Guru Sahiban etc from outside and giving out in gurdwara after doing ardas ...it's getting a bit ridiculous . When I was little we were taught that birthdays were times to contemplate what we had done so far to become closer to guru ji

i'm struggling here to understand why you quoted my post? Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing?

All I was pointing out was the fact that he said "birthday" and "Guru Nanak" in the same sentence, and how it's slightly ironic that he's calling others white washed.

I was agreeing with the deplorable whitewashing of our itihaasic celebrations , I mean they've brought Guru Sahiban down to level of ordinary kids

It's like that time when Sikh Channel went to Nankana Sahib and they interviewed this auntie, I repeat auntie, and she's goes "asi Guru Nanak de birthday le aye han"

It's like come on!!!!!!

there are many many airheads sikhs in Panjab ...who have zero interest or knowledge and act like they are doing tourist checklist when going to itihaasic gurdwarey or a restaurant when it's their local

this guy is a butthurt hindu he has many low swipe videos which have clickbait titles but atheist arguments against christianity not sikhi , obviously he can't find any... not surprising as many atheists admit if they did believe they would have least problem following Guru ji because the benevolence, equality  and ecological aspects are there

Today is a day many of us will be tucking into our mince pies and celebrating the Birth of Jesus. We will have christmas trees and all kinds in our homes to mark the event.

Yet how many of us celebrate the Birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Or even know when it is for that matter?

Just one example of the white washed Sikhs of today. Who know more christmas carol songs the shabads.

I didn’t celebrate it, nor did we have a tree. We went to the Gurdwara for Gurpurab, but there wasn’t much of a turn out, unless people went earlier.

Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji ??

No Sikh is celebrating Jesus' birth. Most just care about getting presents. Especially kids.

Anyway who decided Jesus was white:

Weather you celebrate it is besides the point. You are engaging in acts of another faith. You have a tree with a the star of david on it. you are eating the food and the wine. Slowly slowly your kids with becomes jehovas witness. slowlys but surely young female Sikh wen will have crosses on the knecks. dont be foolish. This is happening rigjt now. We are turning into coconuts.

NOBODY is celebrating the actual birthday of Jesus because

1. he's called Yeshua

2. He was born in summer , whilst sheep were grazing in fields/hills

3. All the feasting is to do with 12 days of celebrating the winter solstice

4. Nobody know exactly when he was born

5. Everybody is worshipping Santa instead who is based on the norse Krampus legend who was a demon, to justify this they link Saint Nicolas a 4th century Greek apolistic saint.

6. People are doing it even though they know they are being hypocritical, where's the truthful living?

Can you please provide some sources
