I have been a member of this forum since late 2011, during these last few years I have witnessed a great many changes in the administration and content of this forum. The current toe line, however, seems to be focusing more on aligning dissident opinion with the majority's through the use of bans and heavy moderation which-in most cases- I believe to be generally uncalled for. I understand that this is only my view, but nonetheless it is a concern which has been voiced on this forum several times before. At the end of the day, whilst profusely thanking all fellow accounts, I will also request the mods to pay heed to my reason for leaving this forum:

Sikhi was never based on a majority consensus opinions where Jathebandi fanboys had rule of the roost. I don't understand, then, why this forum has mods who swiftly expunge any content which they deem to be an antithesis of their own cherished perceptions.

Quality control....

Brother 13Mirch Jee,

I would suggest you not to leave, stay here, we need cool guys like you also.

You have to keep in  mind, quality control and moderators are human beings also, thus not perfect.  They have a tough job themselves in being moderators.

So if you disagree with any of their actions, just overlook and forgive them.  Not everybody has the same point of views. But that does not imply, you should leave this site.  You have never harmed anybody, nor being disrespectful as far as I remember.

It is a pity if you leave, just as Jacfsingh did, or some others also. You write what you want, and if you believe you have not done anything wrong, then you may protest, and for sure you will have all the support from the sangat here.

I take this opportunity, to plead mods/admin, for not allowing anybody being bully here, be it anyone.  It does more harm, the any good. For the good members leave away, and the bad continue to stay and keep on bullying from time to time.

Stay blessed 13Mirch Jee.

Sat Sree Akal.

That is no reason to leave.

However I do agree if there is disagreements against sects/jatha's then there should be a separate area in the forum to discuss such things but no good ever comes out of it usually. Better to focus on topics that majority of Sikhs can unify on and discuss.

I used to be just a guest reader of the forum but decided I need to take part and air my opinions too as we need diversity of thought sometimes. I have seen the forum drop popularity over the years with the rise of facebook and other social media's but it will regain popularity again if we can tolerate each others views and actively participate regularly. There is an issue of non-sikh trolls infiltrating the forum just to divert attention sometimes and try to make a mockery of Sikhs on the sly. That's why I think heavy moderation was needed, however there needs to be a fine balance and census formed between what is accepted speech and what isn't in Sikh forums.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
