My friend who is 20 years old and is in the 3rd year of college just got fired from her part time job as a store clerk because she blown off her shift for the third time in a row despite two previous warnings. Now she told me she plans to make an accusation against her former boss who is a Sikh that he sexually assaulted her (which is not true) as a way of getting revenge. She did not know I recorded her telling me her plan but I am not sure where to go from here.

Any advice?

Tell her u recorded it and you'll tell whoever you need to.

This is a no Brainer. Anyone with a normal conscience would do that.

Actually it's irrelevant that the manager is sikh. Any poisonous female making these types of false allegations needs to anyone needs to be stopped.

If you have it recorded, it's your responsibility to take that to personnel and the police BEFORE she makes the allegation and unfairly causes reputational damage to the manager.

Do it now. Without any delay.

Same as above.

I did turn over the recordings to the police this morning lland my friend was arrested a few hours ago and charged with public mischief and the police imformed her former boss of her plans. I am glad I did the right thing but i am sad because I just recieved  a text message from my best friend telling me I betrayed her and we are no longer friends.

Youve done the right thing. Be glad, ofcourse she will say that but I would not like to be friends with people who harbour such bad thoughts and behave in such a manner.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your ex friend clearly belongs in the zoo.

Where are you based?

You had knowledge of what happened. If you had done nothing, your actions would have been as bad as your "friend" false accusations. If the police found out you had withheld evidence, it could have gotten you into trouble (since the evidence could have freed an innocent man).

At the end of the day, do you really want to be friends with someone who planning to commit a crime? Friends will come and go like the wind. Guru Ji tells us to avoid the company of people whose actions are not good.

I am based in Canada. My ex-friend was also in the third year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and because she has been charged with public mischief, I know she will be expelled from the nursing program she is currently enrolled in because the nursing profession requires registered nurses to be honest.

Public mischief
  • 140 (1) Every one commits public mischief who, with intent to mislead, causes a peace officer to enter on or continue an investigation by

    • (a) making a false statement that accuses some other person of having committed an offence;

    • (b) doing anything intended to cause some other person to be suspected of having committed an offence that the other person has not committed, or to divert suspicion from himself;

    • (c) reporting that an offence has been committed when it has not been committed; or

    • (d) reporting or in any other way making it known or causing it to be made known that he or some other person has died when he or that other person has not died.

  • Marginal note:Punishment

    (2) Every one who commits public mischief

    • (a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years; or

    • (b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.

Yep wouldn't expect anything less. I wouldn't want to be treated or cared for by a nurse whose actions are dishonest. Her own fault not yours.

There are 2 things which you can/should do:

1) Tell her boss immediately and let him know what is going to happen but tell him to keep it quiet for now because you are going to carry out Step 2)

2) Anonymously, tell the police and let them know this could happen. Dasmi Paatshah gave us the kirpan to remind us of fighting injustice daily. This is a test Ji. Hope this helps.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
