Asking material favors from gurus' pictures

It is true what you say brother, but what else can one expect from the weak  moorakh mankind manmukhs .

In each Ang, Sree Guru Granth Sahib tells us what type of devotion we must do, but for that no one pays attention, rather they do what they see others doing, in terms of exteriority.

For example, the Bani says in Prabh ka Simran, are all fruits of any external practices, but still, hardly anyone pays attention to it and puts into practice.

People still like going on pilgrimages, sacred waters, hill stations, jap, tap, pooja, patth, incense, lamps, fast recitations as if there is a speed competition.

Just tell me, when one is in the company of the beloved, does one like to talk fast and finish quickly, or for example, when one goes to watch a movie in the theatre,  do they play the movie so fast that instead of 90 or 120 minutes its finishes in 60 minutes, without anything being understood...

If not so, then why when it comes to His devotion in doing any patth, people want to finish as soon as possible from  a few hours, into even lesser time... Is it not a shameful act?

Has ever Wahiguru told anybody to do patth without love or sharda, but do it as a matter of duty to shake off,  or like some work in the office, or shop, or any other place we may be working.

The Bani clearly says: "awar kaaj tere kitay na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam".

Inspite knowing this, but what do we people do usually, well we prefer to work the body with penances or hardships and austerities, inflicting torture to the body, foolishly thinking He will be pleased with these actions ...

We forget, or better said, we prefer to overlook the Bani, and put our manmat into it. If only we had put into practice the precise instructions of the perfect beings, Guru Sahiban, we would not be derailed away from Sikhee.

We must keep in mind, only Wahiguru and His Naam, are the permanent eternal unchangeable Truth, and as long as we do not turn our faces towards it, through the true and correct devotion, the source of all true wisdom and  bliss, we shall blindly remain deeply engrossed in maya for sure, and thus in the wheel of transgrimation with our strong manmat.

Poor foolish beings ....

Sat Sree Akal.
