Powerful dreams

Guest Simran Sleeper

Waheguroo. Recently I've started to do a lot simran throughout the day. The bulk of it comes in the morning and evening but most of my day in between is focused on saying Waheguru over and over. And because I'm saying Waheguru over and over before I Sleep and as I sleep I find that I'm starting to dream some very powerful dreams. This has only been happening for a few days but I didn't really dream much before that. What does this mean? Can anyone help? Fateh Ji.

What sort of dreams do you have? If they are positive or have some sort of message then maybe Maharaj is trying to communicate with you something that He wants you to do. Maybe you are very close to getting darshan. These may not be the case.

It all depends on what you are dreaming about. If it is about mahapurash then its fine. Other dreams like your former home, snakes, other people in your house, eating food are not very good.

Keep up the simran as your spiritual state is changing so you have to battle many things in the spirit. Pray to Guru Ji to give you understanding about your dreams and to unlock the goodness which Guru Ji wants to bring to you.

Why? What does this represent?

Why should these be bad to dream of?  Former home is bound to be dreamt of, as it’s been a part of one’s life where they would have spent a lot of time living there. Other people of the house also and eating food aren’t bad dreams, because that’s what we see and are part of on a daily basis. Superstitions are not good.

Sometimes we forget to place the blame of bad dreams on our late night desserts. I noticed a significant improvement when I stopped eating chocolate late evening.  Sugar sort of activates our mind to work faster when asleep.  So anyone having bad dreams will want to get rid of extra sugary meals first.

However I have experienced alot of what that guy talks about. So I am still exploring my dreams.  But yes dreams change when you miss your daily path and improve when you increase simran.

Our spirit is awake and in danger, why else would we want rakheya dhe shabad. We should pray to God for protection many times a day I believe.

The dark areas in your life or rather dark thoughts do reflect back in dreams.  The pure you try to keep your thoughts,  the better the dreams get.  It is only naam that purifies thoughts.

I was reading another article which was saying that we can be building houses in our dreams.  Whatever we get on earth we have to obtain it spiritually first. Performing path enables us to build a better life.

I remember a time when I was able to perform lots of simran and had dreams of houses.  Its the same house most of the time.  There were dark forces lingering around at the start of the dream.  However that same house changes quite a lot. It became cleaner, brighter and full of more beautiful things with added simran and path.

One of my colleagues once just walked up to me and said Hey there Ihad a dream of yyou having built a big fenced house with a swimming pool in it. My jaws dropped wide open and I wondered how she knew.

Yes, so path is powerful and is our guide and protector when we are asleep.  The punj baniya, rehras and Kirtan sohila are there for a very important reason.

There are many pangtis on dreams. Here are some of what  Guruji says on dreams:

Marig ṯarisnā ar supan manorath ṯā kī kacẖẖ na vadā▫ī.
Optical illusions and dream-objects, to them, no greatness can be attached.

Rām bẖajan bin kām na āvas sang na kāhū jā▫ī. ||2||
Without the Lord's meditation nothing avails the mortal, nor anything goes with him.

Jag supnā bājī banī kẖin mėh kẖel kẖelā▫e.
This world is like a drama staged in a dream, in a moment this play ends.

Sanjogī mil ekse vijogī uṯẖ jā▫e.
Some attain to Master union and others in separation.

Whatever pleases Him, that comes to pass. Nothing else can be done.

My first dream was very vivid. It was about someone who I admire as a figure in my life - he's very sweet to daas. He kissed me on my forehead and I was crying a lot and he was as well and we hugged and we both dastaars on. I haven't kept my kes yet but in the dream I had. I'm a male btw.

Simran345, here is a pangti on SGGS 558, it seems to be talking about darshan which happened in a dream. Now sleep is being called as blessed so that the darshan of God can happen again.

But one thing, my Body's soul weeps not, which has separated me from my beloved.
Supnai ā▫i▫ā bẖī ga▫i▫ā mai jal bẖari▫ā ro▫e.
He came to me in my dream and again went away, upon which I wept copious tears.
Ā▫e na sakā ṯujẖ kan pi▫āre bẖej na sakā ko▫e.
I cannot come to Thee, O my love, nor can I send any one.
Ā▫o sabẖāgī nīḏ▫ṛī▫e maṯ saho ḏekẖā so▫e.
Come, O fortunate sleep perhaps I may again, behold that Husband of mine (in dreams).

Or do you suppose its meaning is actually different to what is translated ?

When did I say anything about the darshan of God? Guruji tells us those that meditate on Naam maybe fortunate to have darshan of God in their dreams in many pangtis.

Kab ḏekẖ▫a▫u parabẖ āpnā āṯam kai rang.
When shall I see my Lord with the delight of my soul?

Jāgan ṯe supnā bẖalā basī▫ai parabẖ sang. ||1|| rahā▫o.
That dream is better that than waking wherein I abide with my Master. Pause.

Incomparable beauty is of the face of my Friend. I would see Him eight watches through.
