you're funny ... what do you think guru ji taught us conspicious consumption, extravagance and haumai nu patte paune or focus on the actual gurbani, vichar on the meaning and strive to live accordingly ? I did spend money on my wedding but it was my kirt di kamai not my parents' , we had langar before and after the two marriages (both done under Guru ji's roof) prayers of both faiths were done in Guru ji's hazoori, and bidaai was from Gurughar...

I'm sure my kids will be planning theirs , there's nothing wrong in it but I will advise them to not waste money on show but maybe put it towards helping others
