Here's why sikhs should stop marrying hindus altogether !!

Recommended Posts

In my personal experience , as far as I have seen, sikh men who marry hindu women end up ruining sikhi in their families , as the son ends up being either a mona or sardar with trimmed beard

OR even if he's a "gursikh" , he will mix vedic stuff with sikhi and that leads to often underestimated DIRE consequences for the panth as well !

As a child gets its sanskaar from a mother's womb, a hindu mother will invariably give birth to a hindu son, even if he's you know a turbaned guy.

Notable examples include harbhajan singh puri , alias , yogi bhajan . We all know the mess he has created for us to clean .

I would never ever marry a hindu woman if i had to marry . I would rather marry a muslee (funny how these are the ones stigmatized by the sikh community worldwide while the hindus get an open hand among sikhs)

What is this cult created by yogi bhajan . Was he a hindutva guy .

So called "Sikhs" who are marrying people from other faiths such as Hindus probably have no idea about sikhi or what it teaches.

I bet they are the type of guys who can only name like 3 gurus and probably think that banda singh bahadur was a sahibzaada or something.... 😧😓

Well they clearly have no respect for Guru gobind Singh Ji if they dont listen to their hukams.

They also marry these people because they must be desperate for some attention or something and just pick any random girl off the streets.

LOL. many sikhs don't know name of 10 sikh gurus . I learnt the name of 10 patshahis in childhood gursikhi class in local gurudwara and my dad used to enumerate the 10 names in front of rishtedaars , for praises , and rishtedaar would say "Even a granthi might not know so much !" :rofl This is basic info man !!

A mid aged sikh asked me if Guru Gobind Singh ji was Guru Nanak dev ji's dad .. :rofl

Sikhs really need to read.........

Hindu background (Hindu Bharmin) married a Sikh women (arrange marriage)

This is interesting. I've heard of a few arranged marriages between Brahmins and Sikhs (mostly Jatts) but it's usually the other way around - Brahmins will seek out Jatt Sikh partners for their daughters. If you don't mind me asking how long ago did your uncle get married? I've always wondered if this is a new phenomenon or one that has always been around? It's odd for a couple of reasons, the first being Brahmins and Jatts consider themselves polar opposites in most matters - they both have a continuous but friendly joke going which is just them taking the p!ss out of one anothers aadat. The second being, out of all the castes they each consider themselves the purest and most strict, and rarely marry out of caste. What makes the relationship between them yet even more odd is the respect Brahmins have for Sikhi - while there are some who are dismissive of it or downright disrespectful, there are also many who are extremely loyal towards Sikhi and all the Guru Sahiban, and a smaller minority who conduct their daily worship in a Sikh manner, only requiring the services of a Pandit for specific religious ceremonies. Not in a rude way but Punjabi Brahmins are an unusual bunch. Could you shed any light on this? Is there such a thing as a 'Sikh Brahmin'?

At least Yogi bajan did something for Sikhi. He has raised the profile of who Sikhs are in the world be it not in a perfect way but it is something at least. Many of these people may one day become proper Sikhs instead of this yoga stuff.

Why not try and educate these people so they become into mainstream Sikhi instead of the 'cult'

Maybe through Yogi bhajan many have become Sikhs. Just through him raising awareness about the Sikh identity across the world. Even if they follow some beliefs that are not considered fully correct. They are at least a bunch of people that follow alot of what Sikhi says be it not fully.

I think I know some who have broken away fron the cult and become like everyday Sikhs.

But then again I am no expert on these people.

The question is what have you done for Sikhi compared to yogi bhajan?

Really Veer ji

what did he do

he taught gorey, kaley and hispanics that kundalini yoga is part and parcel of being a 'full' sikh

he taught murti pooja and discriminating against real 'desi' sikhs

he hypnotised them by starvation, sleep deprivation and long long hours of kriyas, mantras and lectures

encouraged them to scam people, get involved in criminal actvities like gun-running
force them to work for his empire companies at less than minimal wages of which he would take daswand off them too.

force females into arranged marriages based on birthcharts

of course we know he sexually abused female 3hoers including forced abortions ..

those who have come across these people came away with warped views of regular gursikhs  and an abhorrence of sikhi

I don't blame them for feeling so rejecting , but obviously what they were told by Harbhajan was nothing like sikhi

Those who are still 3ho  DO NOT accept that they have anything wrong , but often tell gursikhs who try to inform them that they are distorting sikhi e.g. when Gurkha Singh was asked about gay marriages he said you can do what you want it's your life implying sikhi takes that view and that Anand Karaj would be possible in an active homosexual lifestyle as it's souls being united. When I challenged him he kept deleting comments

From reading your previous posts, I thought you said your homosexual? So you mean you would marry a muslim guy as opposed to a hindu man?

LOL , if you read my post properly its more about the kids out of such marriages, not the marriage itself that I am opposed to .

I wish I could marry , but thats not an option I have. I have had crushes on both hindu and muslim men and yes one sikh man too. He was a saabat soorat gursikh.

But I like haircut guys more . I am just fascinated by their hair . I would date any hot dude , although most hotties here are hindu or muslim guys that i adore so much.^_^

So your basing  all Hindu and Hindu- Sikh marriages about this this incident and your personal experience living in Mumbai which is the home of RSS/Hindvita (or whatever they are called ).  Let me turn this around into a positive view against your  negative view based on my experience.

My uncle  who is from Hindu background (Hindu Bharmin) married a Sikh women (arrange marriage) a few years later my Uncle become Amritdhari Sikh, His son and daughter  are both  Amritdhari Sikh, and proudly wear a dastar. There a few Hindu-Sikh marriages in my family which are going well

One could say that if person visit  a Gudwara and bows down to the Sri guru Granth Shaib they are Sikh no matter what there surname or religious  background is.

I dot not consider myself a non Sikh even thou by name I am Hindu Bharmin but my beliefs and culture is more inline with Sikhs. Even thou I am not fully religious I know more about Sikhism then the average Sikh.

Do i think its right for me to marry a Sikhg Girl  ? yes because of  knowledge of Sikhi and my beliefs towards Sikhisim (like i said before i do not consider myself  a non Sikh.)  I would want my kids to follow and learn more about Sikhism and Punjabi culture.

I would more likely   have more trouble marrying a strict Hindu as they disagree with my  religious views etc,

Now they are Sikhs who are just Sikhs by Name. The smoke weed, get intoxicated know nothing about Sikhi. they are like "yo blood I am Sikh yo look at my blinked out Khanda neckless Jatt for for life you get me fam " these kind of Sikhs are more problem and danger to Sikhi and could ruin sikh families.

However where I do agree your point against marrying a Hindu  if the Hindu family has no knowledge of Sikhi, never been to Gudwara, unwilling to bow down to Sri Guru Granth Shaib and would want to convert there wife/Husband  to Hinduism.

Name means nothing its whats in the heart that counts . Just look at Bhai Mati Das for an example.

sorry bro didn't mean to hurt you. Your brahmin side of family might be sincere with no vested interests. I am not saying all hindus are mean, but in recent decades the hindutva has become so rabid , i find it really hard to trust anyone (hindu) who gives a brotherly hug to sikhs . Is it to choke us , I wonder

I have told them many a times on the face that "you can only define yourself, not others. We agree we're dharmic group of religions, but not hindu". But they're seemingly adamant which is what p*sses me off.

It was about 20 years ago. I do agree that Both Bharmin and Jatts think they are superior then then rest and would marry within there own cast to keep hold of there linkage  which is  wrong as  feel the cast system has no place in  today society.  The biggest flaw in Hinduism is the cast system. why should  person  cast  dictate  from birth till death  what value they hold in society  .Were all born as mortal Human's are action in are waking life define who we are and not  the  cast. system  If your born a  Bahrmins  that does not your autonomically make you self righteous, powerful and closer to god then  say someone who is of a lower cast which sadly many  still Brahmins think they do. I have know some Bhramin's who will not eat a a lower cast person house. its totally wrong. There are certain temples  in India were lower  cast cant enter which is BS as we know  god does not discriminate.

in The UK i feel its not as bad but some Brahmins in the UK  can come across as arrogant and would be totally against inter-cast marriage. I hate these kind of Brahmins. The Punjabi Hindu's I have across  irrespective of there cast  have more respect towards Sikhism and feel more comfortable attending  there local Gudawara. I dont think there is thing as Sikh Brahmin ?

I can understand  your concern due to you experience and the rapid rise of RSS/Shiv Sena  whom do not represent all Hindu's I see them nothing more then government sponsored terrorist organisation. Sadly the city in you live in Mumbai is full of RSS/Shiv sena supports who believe in Hindu supremacy.  you are right every religion has its right to define themselves  and other faiths  cannot define your religion and belief system for you.

bro im not homphobic but for someone like who seems to have a lot of knowledge on sikhi, who constantly speaks against hindus, someone who seems concerned by the state of modern day punjab its very contradicting that your gay with a preference to hindu and muslim men, especially due to their hair being cut.

    • You call yourself a Sardar but on this forum how have you been identified? I will tell you how... As a NINDAK. You may be keshdhari but that doesnt make you better than others.
    • I always believe that if the dream is good and is Sikhi related then it's darshan. If it's about me falling off a mountain then I don't care about it.
    • there are other newer organised religions but they are offshoots from the older ones e.g.ba'hai
    • Ajeet Singh your sexual preferences are who you are, I am not disputing that or going to tell you that homosexuality is wrong. I personally have no issues with it but on a Sikhi level based on my knowledge I do not think its right. What annoys me is that you use this forum which is for Sikhi to boast about your preference in men etc. From when I was a monah and looked towards Sikhi and Singhs, it was the likes of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Deep Singh Ji, Sant Jarnail Singh who inspired me to take the Sikhi saroop. If I had looked at Singhs who were homosexual, then I most likely wouldnt be where I am today. Be who you are, but be very careful the damage you can cause to the Quom by showing off about your sexual preferences in a Sikhi atmosphere. Look how many viral videos there are of 'Singhs' doing stupid stuff, lets not make a jaloos of our people and disrespect the blood of our shaheeds. Every Quom has got homosexuals, muslims probably got the most but yet they keep it in house or do not let it tarnish their dharam in any way.
