LOL , if you read my post properly its more about the kids out of such marriages, not the marriage itself that I am opposed to .

I wish I could marry , but thats not an option I have. I have had crushes on both hindu and muslim men and yes one sikh man too. He was a saabat soorat gursikh.

But I like haircut guys more . I am just fascinated by their hair . I would date any hot dude , although most hotties here are hindu or muslim guys that i adore so much.^_^

I like your choice in men. You’ve got taste.

As for Punjabi Hindus attending the Gurdwara, it's true many do attend and probably do feel more comfortable there, I've come across some who are basically Sikh - just as you have people who are Sikh in name but Hindu, you have people who are Hindu in name but Sikh (ironically some Sikhs would never accept them but are happy to push others out into the Hindu camp if they get even the slightest whiff of something Sanatan coming their way). And it's not just Punjabi Hindus who go to the Gurdwara - where I live pleny of Gujarati Hindus also attend, not just for the langar either, and some have been attending for years. I actually think there would be quite a few Hindus who would genuinely be interested in Sikhi but sadly there is no prachaar directed towards them

True . There's a reason why they come to gurudwara. Its a sequence of chronology when it comes to religions.

Sanatan mat is not one mat . Its actually a conglomeration of many many. Thats why some philosophers say hinduism shouldn't be called a religion, but rather a mix of many different ideas. For instance , the six schools of philosophy.

Then came Jainism with its harsh austerities. Even Sukhmani sahib had to comment "Jain maarag sanjam att saadhan" (Jain way is of much chastity and extreme austerity) .

Then buddha saw that one hand people were fully into kaam sukh , and other hand they're putting themselves in harsh austerities for sake of religion . As he himself had gone through both paths, he was still searching for the path. He one day heard a stringed instrument student ask his teacher "How much should we pull the string taut?" The master replied "Not too loose, because then it won't make music. Not too tight, then it would break. Not too much, not too less". Buddha heard it and got his way , the "middle way" of buddhism where you don't put yourself in hunger and pain for sadhana but also don't go into too much kaam sukh.

But it still required people to give up their families and earn by begging."bhikshu"

Next religion in india was Sikhi went one step further and said "You can do what buddha did , by remaining with ur families and doing ur duties".

"Re mann aise kar sanyaasa. Ban se sadan sabhe kar samjho mann hi maahe udaasa" ~ Guru Gobind Singh ji maharaj

(O my mind do sanyaas in such a way. Consider your house as forest and practise detachment in your mind)

This is why most people like to attend gurdwara

bro im not homphobic but for someone like who seems to have a lot of knowledge on sikhi, who constantly speaks against hindus, someone who seems concerned by the state of modern day punjab its very contradicting that your gay with a preference to hindu and muslim men, especially due to their hair being cut.

I do realize that I am a bag of contradictions . But I guess most seekers are in a way.

When I talk about sikhi I talk from a spiritual viewpoint, beyond the material world. But I am no saint. I too am conditioned by the 5 vices, and considering my nature, environment, etc , my preference makes sense. No ? lol

PS  : I don't have a lot of knowledge in sikhi. I don't speak against hindus, but hindutva. Big difference.  Infact I find hindu scriptures, esp vedant fascinating.

So your basing  all Hindu and Hindu- Sikh marriages about this this incident and your personal experience living in Mumbai which is the home of RSS/Hindvita (or whatever they are called ).  Let me turn this around into a positive view against your  negative view based on my experience.

My uncle  who is from Hindu background (Hindu Bharmin) married a Sikh women (arrange marriage) a few years later my Uncle become Amritdhari Sikh, His son and daughter  are both  Amritdhari Sikh, and proudly wear a dastar. There a few Hindu-Sikh marriages in my family which are going well

One could say that if person visit  a Gudwara and bows down to the Sri guru Granth Shaib they are Sikh no matter what there surname or religious  background is.

I dot not consider myself a non Sikh even thou by name I am Hindu Bharmin but my beliefs and culture is more inline with Sikhs. Even thou I am not fully religious I know more about Sikhism then the average Sikh.

Do i think its right foh me to marry a Sikhg Girl  ? yes because of  knowledge of Sikhi and my beliefs towards Sikhisim (like i said before i do not consider myself  a non Sikh.)  I would want my kids to follow and learn more about Sikhism and Punjabi culture.

I would more likely   have more trouble marrying a strict Hindu as they disagree with my  religious views etc,

Now they are Sikhs who are just Sikhs by Name. The smoke weed, get intoxicated know nothing about Sikhi. they are like "yo blood I am Sikh yo look at my blinked out Khanda neckless Jatt for for life you get me fam " these kind of Sikhs are more problem and danger to Sikhi and could ruin sikh families.

However where I do agree your point against marrying a Hindu  if the Hindu family has no knowledge of Sikhi, never been to Gudwara, unwilling to bow down to Sri Guru Granth Shaib and would want to convert there wife/Husband  to Hinduism.

Name means nothing its whats in the heart that counts . Just look at Bhai Mati Das for an example.

veer ji

How much do you think it was down to the fact you aunt was a sikh woman , that sikhi florished?

so by what you are saying you are more like a sehajdhari sikh , one from another faith but who identifies more with sikhi?

No one is a Brahmin UNLESS they have Brahmgian ... that is what I have heard ...so very few qualify I guess

In my personal experience , as far as I have seen, sikh men who marry hindu women end up ruining sikhi in their families , as the son ends up being either a mona or sardar with trimmed beard

OR even if he's a "gursikh" , he will mix vedic stuff with sikhi and that leads to often underestimated DIRE consequences for the panth as well !

As a child gets its sanskaar from a mother's womb, a hindu mother will invariably give birth to a hindu son, even if he's you know a turbaned guy.

Notable examples include harbhajan singh puri , alias , yogi bhajan . We all know the mess he has created for us to clean .

I would never ever marry a hindu woman if i had to marry . I would rather marry a muslee (funny how these are the ones stigmatized by the sikh community worldwide while the hindus get an open hand among sikhs)

What is this cult created by yogi bhajan . Was he a hindutva guy .

Outrageous!

By your own twisted logic sikhi as expressed by guru nanak dev ji would not exist..

Unbelievable

often tell gursikhs who try to inform them that they are distorting sikhi e.g. when Gurkha Singh was asked about gay marriages he said you can do what you want it's your life implying sikhi takes that view and that Anand Karaj would be possible in an active homosexual lifestyle as it's souls being united. When I challenged him he kept deleting comments

Can you please provide some examples of your assertions or is this just nindya

These haircut boys are really hot.

Its not considered a "sex toy" when both parties enjoy it.

You are chatting about your gay preferences on the wrong site, this forum is for promoting Sikhi, teaching others and trying to lead by example. Without being graphic, but when your getting bent over by some 'haircut' dude, with your own kesh all over the place, im sure you are doing besti on all of us. I find your posts disgusting and that isnt because I am homphobic, even if you said the same about girls I think your messed up for chatting this gandh on a Sikhi forum.

Agreed with the fact that the users posts are verging on vulgarity, and a religious forum would be the last place to post these.

I personally think if any individual has any questions about sexuality, they should be discussed on this forum, but making crude and borderline sexual remarks on a religious site is very disparaging behaviour.

I don’t have anything against AjeetSinghPunjabi, and don’t want to offend him, but I ask that he please refrain from posting overtly vulgar and inappropriate remarks.

Very well said brother

You are the only one who raised the issue of my orientation here, atleast on this thread ! I didn't

Several of RSS men are gay . Why do you think they  are life time bachelors ?!!

I represent myself, not the kaum . And BTW, since you asked for it , I have never bent forward (thats a boring sex position anyways lol) . I am a virgin .

PS: Just because the kaum  ignore homosexuality, doesn't mean homosexuality ignores the kaum. Nature gives enough of homos to all kaums, including sikhs. You can choose to bury your head in sand like ostrich but it won't change reality. I am not kidding , there're many gabroo young turbaned sikh men who're gay in my friend list !

    • Since 1960s when British Asians first came to the UK in large numbers they have had to struggle to make life for themselves from scratch in a not so welcoming alien land. And we have seen 2001 and especially since 2012 there has been open season especially in the right wing racist white mainstream media outlets  demonising against British Asian males when they talk about issues around muslim grooming pedo gangs. Rather than call a spade a space the white racist mainstream media targeted the asian race and skin colour of these pedo' gangs. Rather than call out Islam and muslim culture for creating an environment where these pakistani, middle eastern arab and Somalian scumbags felt its ok to use and abuse non-muslim girls for their own gains the politically incorrect white racist mainstream media called out the asian race in an open racist attack on the asian male identity on your race which you can do nothing about. And when you look at Sikh youth birmingham's pages on facebook and instagram theres hardly no parchar about Sikhi or positive messages for lost sheep to return to sikhi but its full of muslim pedo articles and stupidly they also share racist white articles written by sly white racist journalists mainstream media which attacks asian males openly. If anywhere in the world the race label of the gangs was used it would be obviously be deemed a racist article yet our m0ronic british asians are not calling dailymail or sky news amoung others out they are letting them get away with racist propaganda against asian males when the real culprits the muslim males who should have been targeted and called out. It seems people behnd Sikh youth birmingham are not clever enough to realise that they are unwittingly in my view helping spread racist white hate propaganda against their own community cos the average white subconsciously is not going to see the religion of the person when they look at a brown/asian male they are going to link the skin colour the asian features to these grooming pedo gangs and terrorism.
    • Ur doing so good and only 16. If I look back at myself when I was 16 I didn’t even know anything about sikhi in true terms.. nothing at all.. don’t be disheartened whatever ur going thru it’s also a part of tests (parikhya) that a true Gursikh has to pass and you will pass for sure coz u have that love and devotion.. and whatever mrdoaba has mentioned is right. Trip to India and spending some time with Gursikhs or nihangs would be useful but u can do that there as well.. I don’t know which country ur from but I’m sure u would find some true gursikhs there as well.. just don’t give up..
    • Thank you so much for your wonderful reply veer ji. I cannot say how thankful i am for you. I wil try my best to follow your advice. No i will not be going alone to india. I am going with my nanne.
    • I talked to someone about these lines and he told me some things about it.. but he didn’t send me the path that has these lines.. basically he said It’s ok if we keep doing the path without those lines..
