Status if the Gurus

What is the main belief in regards to the 10 gurus ? I've come across a few different beliefs and I'm a bit confused - this is what I've heard, can someone tell which one is correct -

1) guru means someone that's takes you from darkness to light ie guide that is divinely inspired - kind of like a prophet of the Abrahamic faiths - they were human mortals that had reached a high as status with waheguru

2) gurus were Waheguru in human form - kind of like Jesus in Christianity - someone also told me the gurus didn't have children conventuallt but all were born like Jesus as God in human form can't have Sex.

3) Guru Nanak was like God in human form but the others were divinely inspired as guru Nanak was the only one that disappeared and was one with God - other came from Hindu backgrounds ( guru angad, guru amr das, guru ram das)

4) same as above but includes guru gobind as divine also

which one is the correct one ?

also I thighs all the gurus were regarded equally ? Are they all not the same ?

thanks

That's a good question.

A guru is someone who takes you from darkness to light and they are Vaheguru themselves. I will give you a Gurbani Pangti.

Gur Parmesar eko jaan

Know that the Guru and Vaheguru are one.

not all who call themselves Gurus are worthy of such a high title...Only Satguru Nanak Dev ji 's to Guru Gobind Singh ji  are worthy of that status in this age of Darkness (Kalyug)

to the Brother who has so many questions:

1.) The Guru Sahiban are more than Prophets as they had full knowledge and abilities of Akal Purakh , they never displayed doubt, anger, greed, pride, lust( desires) or attachment and accepted God's will without complaint. This is not true of the prophets of old.

2) The Guru Sahiban were born of married women conventionally acquiring a human body. Guru Nanak Dev ji was the second child of Mata Tripta and Mehta Kalu  as he had an older Sister Nanaki . Those who became Guru through sewa and simran at the feet of Gurbani were also Humans but God realised souls, we are all part of Akal Purakh it's only the mindset that makes us see seperation.
we are All one Jot - divine light/soul  just poured into different vessels (this includes the whole of the natural world around us ).

It is good to be in family life and to be actively acting in the world being a positive contributor, taking one's responsibilities seriously and not abandoning them to have a spiritual life . The Guru Sahiban  led by example and had a wife and family.

sex is not a dirty thing , it is just the creative process in action ...when we as humans corrupt its use to satisfy powertrips(abuse) anger(sexual violence), greed (promiscuity) we take its postive nature to very dark and destructive places. Guru Teg Bahadur ji gave Guru Gobind Singh ji (and all his children to be Khalsa ) advice  about staying true to one's spouse and showing love  and care there only. Our Guru Sahiban were plain speakers and were clear about the need to express that aspect of life within the sanctity of marriage so we will not be making unfounded myths about them . Guru Nanak Dev ji being app Parmeshwar had two sons - so no Jesus could have had children too there are no rule such as you said.

3. Guru Angad Dev ji was a gursikh  because he gave himself to Guru Nanak Dev ji , same Guru Amar Das ji was gursikh of Guru Angad Dev ji and Guru Ram Das ji was gursikh of Guru Amar Das ji . This means all of them abandoned labels long before they became Guru Sahiban . None of them had accepted any one else as their Guru prior to entering Guru Nanak Dev ji's path so not Hindu as that is a requirement too to have a Guru on the Hindu paths

4. One jot  bro one immortal jot

The reason the Gurus taught Gurbani is so that we can become like them, realizing our True Nature.

We are All God and He is Us. We are the drop in the ocean and the ocean is a drop in us.

The Gurus realized and practiced and applied the Truth to their daily lives, hence they became the realized Truth in Form.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
