Living in the capital London is the best option in the UK. Where I live Birmingham it is one big ghetto.

Best option for what? Job wise it probably is, but too much congestion and pollution compared to West Midlands. There’s some nice places around, whereas as London is all go, go, go. No neighbourhood environment in the capital.

Yes you're right. I was talking about job wise. London is the financial centre.

The thread has gone off topic slightly. This is about how we are suppose to attract more followers to Sikhi.

Really this should have been done along time ago. But our leaders are silly and cant be bothered. The heads of the Gurdwaras have the funding to do events and missionary wok in the UK. But they are more concerned about the rohinga in Burma then about the future of the our faith.

Its now down to the younger generation those with know how in the field to partake in missionary work. We can all do this I suppose. If we really made some effort. Ie handing our leaflets. Door to door knocking and interfaith events. Social media, youtube and twitter ect.

We cannot be just satisfied with the odd token event in the high street. There needs to be a conserted and prolonged effort which will require hard work. We will have to give our time and energy. But if we all did a little bit it will have a big impact.

One lady who recieved backlash from just about everyone. Gurdwaras vandalized? Maybe in Ontario, haven't heard of such an incident in BC so far. The Punjabis in Brampton aren't angels, if anything, they're probably the bullies. People know who are, I've never been mistaken for a Muslim .

Obviously every country has their problems, but you're exaggerating. Do you even live in Canada?

That gurdawara incident was in B.C and I live n Canada,  the amount of racism in B C exists Brampton BC and Toronto don't have any good youths they're all criminals only a few that are actual Sikhs Even now I see "terrorist towel heads" written at parks

They tried to get some immigration group going to white people being "is this what you want" when Sikhs started moving in, they branded Springdale as "Singhdale" Browntown Brangladesh etc there even was that racist lady on YouTube with that strange thin eyebrows. This isn't a new trend the earliest it began was 1999

And if you lived inPunjab you would support lots of people from foreign land and cultures taking over your town? I doubt it.

Canada never has and never will belong to the goreh.

Their ancestors/forefathers invaded and stole the land from its native people in the same way of the Native Americans and Australian Aboriginals. Their descendants are now sowing what they reaped while remaining ignorant of history so the thought of sympathy shouldn't even enter the mind, in my opinion.

Perhaps they should've stayed in their caves and let the world prosper on its own because intolerance runs in their blood.

Stole? Its human nature. Throughout history people have been conquering and/or wiping out other people to take their lands. Most of the time, it wasn't by pretty means. Natives weren't able to hold their land and lost, simple. Are we supposed to return every bit of land to the very original inhabitants?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
