I've had the same opinion for many years. I remember having a debate with Ravi Singh on Sikhnet over 16 years when Khalsa Aid was collecting money for the Gujarat earthquake. I asked him why he wasn't doing anything for Punjab and those Sikh farmers committing suicide (yes, the issue does go far that back) there who needed help. His view was that Khalsa Aid needed to gain a 'reputation' by helping in other causes first and  then start projects for Punjab. I thought that was a BS excuse then and seeing how they have only done some minor work in Punjab while the vast majority of funds goes towards non-Sikhs shows that was just an excuse. His other argument was that they were only involved in humanitarian and disaster relief so they could not help the Sikh farmers!

It's an unfortunate fact but Sikh organisations such as Khalsa Aid and United Sikhs are mainly only interested in rushing to help non-Sikhs  while pushing the needy Sikhs to the side. Only organisation that I see which is involved in Sikh causes is Sikh Relief. They should be the ones that we should be giving donations to and not Khalsa Aid.

Although I admire ravi singh in many ways for being a humanitarian and he clearly has pro-sikhi creditianls often battling hindutva extremists on twitter when exposing crimes against Sikhs by the indian govt however I feel his org Khalsa Aid is not actually khalsa Aid its not aiding Sikhs its aiding mostly non-sikhs and thats a fundamental flaw in its remit, its vision and goal as a Sikh charity it should be purely Sikh centric and its missed the mark for years now.

The first time I heard of khalsa Aid was back in April 2000 during vaisakhi nagar kirtan some guys with labels of help for kashmiri Sikhs were collecting funds in buckets for the victims of the chattisinghpura anti-sikh massacre by islamo-fascist jihadis during bill clintons visit there. I thought wow our sikh brothers and sisters affected there are being helped by fellow Sikhs at last as I had never seen charities rising funds to help only Sikhs. I give some money but over the years I realised this Khalsa Aid and united Sikhs org are fake news are a sham they are not muslim charities where they only help their fellow muslims they are a charity that mascarades as a Sikh charity but in essence goes off helping more non-sikhs if anything.

Ravi singh as an individual is doing great for the image of Sikhs worldwide so aint going to knock him for that, I support him fully in helping yazadi's especially as they have no one that supports or helps them in the world whereas rohingya muslims have vast number of muslims and muslim govt's to help them.

Ravi singh does deserve humanitarian award but his organisation doesn't really deserve the respected title of a Sikh charity that only belongs to charities that actually using hard earn sangats money to help our brethren or spreads sikhi via parchar.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
