That's what I'm trying to do, but some people just don't back up what they mean..? So I can't just agree..

Are you even Panjabi or from India?

If you engage directly with Guru ji like we are pushing you to do, you wouldn't need all these intermediate relationships with people about it.

I think one of the first hurdles in developing your personal relationship is by diminishing the excessive reliance of others in interaction. Yeah, this can take a few years but you need to start that journey now. Until you do that, most of what you're doing with arguing this that and the other with other people regarding these deep elusive spiritual matters is just a waste of time.

You can't back up what you are saying either because you haven't had that direct relationship.

Do yourself the biggest favour ever and jump into this asap. It'll be life changing.

And I have to say I agree with jkvlondon's point above about most of what you are coming with is just white, western, leftfield worldview dressed up as Sikhi (i.e. 'Sikhism') - the fact that you haven't discerned this says a lot.

Why do assume I'm not well read?

I've been where you're at. Having read most of my knowledge of 'Sikhism' from books in English over decades. It's only when I engaged directly (after learning Gurmukhi) that I realised most of what I read was motivated bull5hit. It's important you get to that point quickly, because otherwise you're just going to be another brainwashed guy who can't see through the fog. That's why (right now) you're essentially pushing lefty western values, but thinking you're pushing your own heritage. People have set so many traps for Sikhs (especially during colonisation), and we are almost born falling into them. If we don't learn about these tricks and dig ourselves out - we're in big trouble.

Bro, I'm just saying that if we jump into a topic like we know what we are talking about and we haven't even bothered to make the effort to engage with studying and experiencing the subject at hand - it's only going one way - we are going to make the dumbest mistakes ever - just down to plain old fashioned ignorance.

Do yourself a big favour mate.

Well, I only just told you you need to stop relying on others for this information and go direct. And straight away you do exactly what I'm saying is a waste of time?!?!? Mine and yours.

Absorb yourself in it and see what comes to you. Leave all preconceptions behind. I don't have the time or desire to minutely analyse your words mate. It's the weekend.

If you seriously don't realise how much your perspective will be skewed because of language barriers after all that's been said - that ain't too bright.

Foreign translations should only ever be a gateway, a first tentative step - if you've liked what you've read so far - get in deeper and experience the real thing.   This isn't about intellectualising this is about experiencing.

Which nicely reminds me to get on with life and stop wasting time on the web like a proper knob.

See ya.

That's a very unfortunate response
