Sangat ji , I need help. I really want to have darshan of guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj and I have been trying a lot for some months now. I sleep few hours and keep doing simran and path. My parents are concerned and want me to sleep more and wake up later at amritvela. Any tips and advice much appreciated. I have taken Amrit but need to do correction or Sadai because I accidentally take off my  Kashara from both legs. Could that may be a reason. Please I am just so confused. I am amritdheri so no meat eggs alcohol drugs hair cut in my family and I keep strictly to an 11 pm amritvela with maharajas Kirpa and keep going till after sunrise. I know I should be patient but how much longer does das have to wait for Maharaj. I sometimes just keep looking outside hoping Maharaj would give darshan someday. Do I still need more simran path or do I just wait or sometimes I get the thought that it may not be my destiny to have  darshan which makes me very sad sometimes. Still grateful for darshan of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj who is the joti jot of 10 guru sahibs but I still hope to have darshan of tenth guru Maharaj. I used to have a problem with masturbation and porn for atleast 2 years but with maharajs Kirpa I have changed. Could Maharaj be upset with me, or is Maharaj testing the patience and determination that he himself has given to me . Note - I am not shashterdhari unless having Kirpan makes you shashterdhari so could that maybe be why. Please if anyone has had darshan of  Maharaj how long did it take you and what did you have to do to get darshan.  Sorry for the long post , anyone help me please

I will probably go down on the route many of us will not want to hear, but maybe it's your Karma? If you can notice that Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is in Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji it would make you more satisfied in life.

You have darshan of Guru Sahib every time you see his Saroop, yet still asking how long it takes, Vaheguru is everywhere, don't forget that. Your question would still not be satisfied even if you saw Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in his human form when he was in Patna, and you'd be asking how you'd meet Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji or Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Harkrishan Ji. If you saw Guru Sahib in Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji's form you'd still ask where his first form is, despite his own name meaning that he is a part of him.

I'll also say something even more important, if you can't see Guru Sahib from Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, (or if you lived in the past ages, asking questions about meeting previous Gurus), you won't see him at all. Seeing previous Gurus is always a great blessing, but that's exactly what it is, a blessing, not something everyone gets or even every Amritdhari gets, or even every Mahapurukh/Sant gets. Guru Sahib can show himself in different forms, but understand that means you have to seek it out.

What you have is a high and genuine desire. Keep patience and faith. Keep doing what you're doing and keep the same desire. But also understand this is a sehaj or long process. Don't lose faith because if you keep the same desire it will come true one day. Waheguru completes all our desires

Wear shastars and keep doing bhagti like you are doing but never stop. How long have you been doing this?

KHALSA REHATNAMA

IK-OAN-KAAR SRI WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH [[
SRI MUKHWAAK PATSHAHI 10v [[

tb im bhneyo gareeb niwaj [[

it says here that without shastar and kesh guru sahib wont give you darshan.

That is a very good desire...keep it up.

I have not had darshans of GuruSahib. But i did  hear of a Gursikh bibi, everyday during sukhasan see would ask to be blessed with the darshan of one of the gurus, i forgot which. She kept asking...and after 2 years she got darshan.

I think theres 2 ways to meet guruji. Through love and through tap/ penance/hardwork. If it is thru love, u try to increase ur love qnd closeness to the guru. You listen to their sakhis, do kirtan, as much simran and seva because you like want to know more about ur guru, see wat he said, and u r happy thinking of him. Basically its wat.the above  poster said, u want to do something for ur guru. But its hard to have that love so some ppl do it the hard way. They do tap, i will do simran or paath until Guruji gives me darshan. So they rely on stubborness. And in both ways, guruji tests u to see if ur worthy. He will test the love of the other and stubborness of the other. So because u r doing it through tap, u will tested on stubborness. You will have to keep being stubborn and asking for darshan and not give up.

Also make sure you are not affecting ur health by not sleeping enough. This human body is precious. You can do seva of the panth of humanity of ur parents with it.

Honestly stop with all this nonsense, if it was this simple who wouldn't have met guru sahib by now? Please stop brainwashing sikhs into Pagan maat, these banian have messages to strengthen the mind and soul, not some hidden superpowers.

bhul chuk muaf

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
