We're all brides in the eyes of the guru aren't we?

according to Gurbani, only the approved and accepted are brides of the Guru.  Gurmukhs like Baba Deep Singh ji and Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa.  Those who don't follow the Gurus teachings are discarded and maya is there masters.

It's doesn't sit well when you say that women/men can't do things in Sikhi. When people talk of women give birth men don't ...well that's biology isn't it?

And singhs are biologically different from kaurs.  Guru Sahib kept the difference between singhs and kaurs.

Does biology affect your ability to join with the guru?

A Sikh can join with the Guru and never be one of the panj pyare.  Your arguments make no sense.  Are you sure you didn't fall off of a cliff and hurt your head?

This further extends to areas where women can't sit in darbar sahib etc. We point out the hypocracy in other religions when they say that people can't participate in the faith because of gender , class etc but we have some questionable 'practices' ourselves.

Every Sikh whether man or women have full access to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.  They can do ardas, meditate, do kirtan, shastar vidhiya, akhand paath, Langar seva, seva of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, etc.  You must have drunk goggles on.  Hold up 1 finger in front of your eyes and tell yourself, I am going to cut the extra finger off.....good luck.

Those who say that 5 men stood up to guru Ji's call also need to think about the historical context of women at the time, as even Mai bhago had to challenge the status quo to fight alongside men, which is why she is so revered as an example to our women.

You obviously are ignorant of Sikh women history.  Women were appointed as head of manji sahibs.  In the Nirmal (khalsa) Panth the guru gave equal opportunity to women and men.

The3ho Sikhs include women in the panj pyaare , but then they also have their inconsistencies.

Can you find a better example of people who can't read Gurbani.  Maybe that will help support your case better.  I know get Guruka Singh to make a video of how he is a good b*llshit story teller.  Put some sounds in the mix and get him to balance himself on his huge belly.  Magic and a show, now you are on the right track.  Those who eat from the poor are never honest.  Their fat belly speaks volumes.

To summarise our form in this life is a shell (like a spacesuit) inside we are either moving towards the guru or not and that's the main thing isn't it?

Summary!!! Why do you need a summary for a post that provided irrelevant incorrect information?  The outer shell is called either Singh or Kaur.  It plays a role according to Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.

From experience I know of some people who have been one of 'panj pyaare' and they have questionable views / actions which are not consistent with guru's teachings. The outside form is deceptive in this life.

In this case, why don't we get flying monkeys to fill the role of punj pyare.  If they act up a woman can pull their chain and your feminist movement will be fulfilled, but wait they have to be male flying monkeys......LOL  You liberal extremist don't even make it tough to defeat your arguments.  A kid saying......I know you are but what am I...has more concrete substance.

Honestly, form a concrete argument and come back to present it.  Go ask even the akj people for help.  So far you guys have nothing that holds water.  Its all ambiguous and incorrect information.  It takes Guru's wisdom to understand and form an argument to present Gurmat.  Not half truths.

There you are!  Dilute sikhism further and further and you will end up with a fake version of it very soon.  Why meddle with those principles which don't sit well with you people?  Don't you realise there are many out and in there desperate to weaken this religion?  Why are you lot not safeguarding your religion from outside and inside assailants? Wake up before it's too late! Your insouciant attitude is forcing newcomers/recent converts like myself to look elsewhere! Why be so blase?

The only constant in life is change people should learn to embrace it !

We must support this petition and women should get their rights because our Sikh religion is the great and foremost, it doesn't believes in caste system, then why there is a discrimination between men and women. Instead, Guru Nanak Dev Ji has given the highest status to the women, this is why, we need to support this petition.

Ask yourself one question when posting to this forum: if you needed to do peshi in front of the panj pyaareh tomorrow would you rather do in front of;

a) 5 jyot vigaasi, naam rassiye Singhneea

b) 5 Singh's who have no discipline, just about do nitnem, care more about worldly happenings than looking after their own bhagthee.

?

to be honest, only Singhs who should really administer khanday dee pol is those who also have training with their shastar in addition to nitnem. What's the point of pakhand of playing dress-up bana panj piyaray?

The bana was introduced before any Sikh was given a shastar.  Your mommy is probably calling you to go drink milk...go run along little boy.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
