When is Revenge good?

People often say revenge is never good and that if someone does something bad to you. You should just walk away. 

But if that is the case. Then why do we punish people if they commit crimes against others. Is that not some kind if revenge? Many other times people are still not jailed for their crimes. 

If this is the case then people can walk all over you. And all you do is turn the other cheek.

It depends on how we perceive things or how Waheguru intended us to see them.

We don't know or keep track of our bad karma whether this life or previous ones.

As per Divine Law of Karma what we sow is what we get, sooner or later !
