I wish we could have such pro-Panthic feeling amongst all of Sikhs, even the ones less strong in Rehit.

What  some Sikhs say when the question of girls falling for Muslims comes up is that we Sikhs yell at our daughters too much and don't put them at an equal level with boys, restrict our girls, and let boys do anything. Uhmm, just one question: Don't Muslims do the same exact thing? So how can you say our girls are weak because we restrict them too much?!

Yes your right but these girls are often not taught correct Sikhi or not even at all. Hence you get them giving you that argument which you said. Also there is no Sikh peer pressure as much as there used to be to bring shame to girls who stray off with non-sikhs. Families have no concept of shame or honour and these 2 are vital to keep up standards in a community, the muslim community still holds on to these important social tools hence their girls conform more.

Alos Muslims are generally are taught 1 rehit and have a strong sense of community. Every sunni muslim is taught if one part of the ummah (body of muslims) is suffering then they all sunni muslims everywhere should feel it.

Sikhs dont have that sense of botherhood anymore which they did and should, Sikhs nowadays have this non-sikh idea of sarbat da bhalla ideology which has been taken out of context by liberal leftists saying botherhood of man comes before brotherhood of your own Sikh brother/sister. And often the brother in humanity (like for a muslim example) doesnt see you as a brother in humanity they are taught only a fellow muslim is their true brother of the community of believers because they will have to answer to Allah during judgement day for what they did.

Sikhs households are taught various rehits and these rehits are man made not even Guru made so kids rebel. In some sikh households I see people worshiping god men baba's, worshiping photo's of guru's, doing pooja arti of guru photo's and SGGS, doing matha tekh of "sants", calling Guru nanak God, calling bhagat ravidass God, worshipping other religious figures like jesus and hindu gods and thinking its part of sikhi.

These kinda madness ideas and nonsense rituals take away from the basics of Sikhi into the realms of new age hippy cultist belief systems and leave the adherants and their kids confused. Once Sikhs learn their faith properly they are proud, pro-panthic and defensive of other Sikhs.

The far right wing white media are not on our side either they are only on our side when it suits their interests and narrative.

I've always believed we, as Sikhs, are in a unfortunately unique position whereby the racist Right are as much a threat to us as the apparently cordial-but-not-really Left.

Do note there is quite a difference between the Right, and the Far Right. The Right is composed of people who want a specific set of policies (mostly involving a smaller government, less welfare benefits, strong military, law and order, more traditional morality, more national sovereignty and also no race-based quotas for hiring or education). This would be the Republican party in the US, and the Tory parties in Canada and UK.

This is quite removed from the Far Right, which just wants one thing: White people running anything and everything and benefits for them only. If you were to call a member of the Right a racist, he would recoil and strongly deny that he was a racist. If you were to call a Far Rightist a racist, he would say, "Yes I am". Members of the right are glad to have members of minority groups in their parties. Members of the far right would never in a million years accept a non-white as a member of their party.

So, while I think we can interact positively with Right (and also Left) parties, we would only interact with a Far Right party in the way Guru Gobind Singh ji interacted with Shah Bahadur: with extreme caution and eyes wide open. Fortunately, there are no strong Far Right parties in most of the English-speaking countries where most Sikhs live outside of our homeland.

calling Guru nanak God,

Agree with almost all of what you said, except for this, because the traditional Sikh belief (echoed in Gurbani and other canonical Sikh sources) is that, indeed, Guru Nanak Dev ji (Satguru) is God.

However ... let's not debate that question in this thread, which is meant to talk about the phenomenon of "moderate"/"liberal" Muslims being so strongly pro-Muslim and possibly allergic to non-Muslims (like whenever Sikhs are praised for something).

Granted.

Though on the other hand, do also note that the "mainstream" media and political establishment are not exactly paragons of virtue when it comes to correctness of facts. Such as that one time that the advisers around President George W. Bush wanted desperately to prove a reason for the invasion of Iraq, like Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction? The intelligence community and the New York Times were hard at work manufacturing "proven" facts, which were later shown to be nothing but politically-motivated nuggets of their imaginations.

That's exactly why I recommended we should genuinely sift through everything presented to us as fact, and arrive at conclusions after serious thought. This requires somewhat of an inquisitive nature; an independent streak, and a desire to learn. Unfortunately, unless there's a material reward at the end of educational pursuits, or there's simply no desire to cast aside the veil of falsehood and ignorance, then we as a community in these modern times are hardly famed for our ability to swim against the tide. I admit I occasionally struggle with the overwhelming nature of the sheer force of conflicting views and opinions, especially when emotion overtakes reason, but if we keep at it then eventually clarity does begin to appear.

The difference between our thinking is we are a Kaum continually fueled by extreme rebellion against what people consider to be true. Before we all had one Rehat: and that was Taksal. Today the situation has been so terrible that even the Taksal has forgotgen the true Rehat. In Islam rebelling against their Rehat meant excommunication. There are only 2 Jathas in Islam, (Shia and Sunni), and they were both founded for succession of Muhammad, Christians only have 3 Jathas, (Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox), they were formed for religious-conflicts, Jesus Christ made one Jatha and that was Catholicism, the other 2 are rogues of his message,(no offense to Protestants and Orthodox). We have thousands of Jathas, and that's not including Pakhandi Babas into the mix, and each of them was made from rebellion against the tradition. Sometimes rebellion against tradition is good, but a tradition must be replaced, not left in the open. This is not a topic of Maryada changing, but rather we are a communitty of Anti-Compromise, (this is a reason why all problems are made)

orthodox christianity is the original then Papal RC and protestant is the main offshoots.

islam has more then two sects

Jewish have orthodox then non orthodox

for a long time heretics in all three were murdered now its mainly islam

sikhi has only one Guru Granth, One Guru Panth (diverse though it may be), apostates are let go, not killed, heretics are confronted then let go if they cannot follow the Guru

It is time to bring old teekas, and dharmic gian forward for the new generations translating them for inter

national and indic nations

There you go again the literalist.

When will you literalists stop saying Guru Ji was God. Guru Gobind singh ji said those who call him God will be cursed. And Guru Nanak said he praises God (in reference to an external entity) in scriptures....

So if we believe that Guru's Jot (light/soul) traveled from one Guru to the next... then are we now to believe Guru Gobind Singh Ji was God? Is now SGGS Ji God?

Wake up! raise your IQ level!

By your own standard, your taking the line from Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji literally as well, the first ones to say Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji wasn't God was the missionaries when they somewhat pretended to believe in Dasam Granth.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
