What position are you supposed to take while doing paath

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Sangat Jiyo I want to start off by saying that I'm not amritdhari but I quit meeting eat cutting my hair and I started doing paath recently. I'm just curious as to what position I should be taking when doing paath. As I'm quite tall sitting for as long as I have to until I finish my paath the part we call our "moor" of our back starts hurting. It hurts to the point where I feel like sitting around and not doing anything after paath. My question is should I do whatever makes me comfortable as long as my legs are crossed? Where are my elbows supposed to be? Can I lean against the wall behind me? All help would be appreciated Sangat Ji.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa

Waheguru ji ki fateh

Posture persay is supposed to help a person focus.

At home change positions as n when required but in Sangat follow convention.

Try sitting upright with good posture when seated. Start by inflating chest slightly and internally you should try and move your sukham core from the ground and upwards,....you should feel weight come off your buttocks. Try to maintain this whenever you realise you may have stooped. Its the stooping that is causing you pain. I'm 6 ft 4, and I no longer suffer these things.

I forgot to mention that it may help if you put a cushion under your asan so that your knees are level or slightly lower than waist line.

Practice practice practice. ususally week to 10 days of being strict will help you develop naturally.
