Vaheguru ji Ka Khalsa
Vaheguru ji Ki Fateh, ji

If there is one thing that I'd like you to learn from me, it is to not talk negatively about anyone, even if that person is wrong. We never know what the individual is like from the inside, so we should not assume someone's lakshyans. Once again, please forgive me if I hurt your sentiments. Sarbat da bhalla. Vaheguru ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji Ki Fateh

Learn from you? You must be joking? I learn from Guruji, who I bow down to, not from you ok, I don't bow to you. And stop asking me for forgiveness. I'm not God to forgive people either.

You got that?

Hi, I'm 25 from UK and live with family. I don't have a close relationship with my dad, brother or dads wife. I only talk to my grandma but she only speaks Punjabi. After university I lost contact with friends and family wasn't the best either. After my mom died 10 years ago my dad didn't make effort to talk to me and just ignored me. My brother never talks to me either and doesn't seem bothered about me. The only place I found people to talk with were strangers on the internet. My dads sisters and cousins started talking down to me and it started making me depressed so I stopped visiting them and when my dad noticed he started arguing with me and didn't understand how I felt. He cares more about what others think and I don't thinm he understands what family should be like. Nobody in my house has taught me about Sikhi and I think it could help me because I get so lonely. I'm thinking of getting my own place in a few years because I also feel like I don't have enough space and privacy and I just go to work or shops. Most of the time I stay in my room. I don't feel comfortable around my dad or brother. My dad only talks to me about negative things and it only leVes me feeling depressed. I sonetimes feel like I'm not a good enough person to start reading gurbani. I do have bad habits and my depression might be a barrier. Anyone got any advice?

Sister relax and just cool down,

trust and love yourself. Do not let others negative opinions affect you, no matter if they are your family members.

Secondly submit yourself as a child to Wahiguru, and pray Him to help and guide you. Prayer has positive effects on oneself.

Regarding you not being a good person to read Gurbani ..... please remove that poisnous thought from your mind.

We are all sinners, if we do not take shelter in the Bani, how will we ever be saved?

Trust Him and love Him, then no matter how haevy load of karmas we have, then too, He will extend his arm of Daya Meher, and make us smoothly go through thm.

That is His beant wadeeayee.

God bless you.

Sat Sree Akal.

How do they not help to heal people? They encourage people to read Sri Gurbani Sahib ji, and to do kirtan. That is like saying I got no food from the Langar Hall (when I did), but Sri Vaheguru Sahib ji gives food. Or like saying a parcharak did not give me gyan, but Sri Vaheguru ji gives gyan. Of course Sri Vaheguru Sahib ji gives everything, but why not aknowledge the people who were the ones who brought you the things. That sanstha tells people who go there to practice Sri Gurbani Sahib ji, and if that is not healing then what is healing? Vaheguru ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji Ki Fateh

Exactly what you wrote, "they help people". But that is not the same as them healing people. It is only Waheguru and Gurbani that heals them. No, it's not the same as what you are stating, you are mixing everything up. You write one thing, and then you go off topic into something totally different.

Yes, they encourage people to recite the shabads of Gurbani and help with the pronunciation. They are sevadars (volunteers) of Sarab Rog Ka Aukhad Naam, so that is their duty to do that. But they are not the ones that heal, only Waheguru is the one that heals. Healing is when one receives the grace of God, and their health condition or whatever dukh/rog they have starts to improve or has some effect. I've met some of the organisers and I'm sure they wouldn't say that they heal the people. They always have said it's Guruji that does it, never have they said it's them. This is what you need to separate and distinguish from who the healer is and who the sevadars are.

We have been serving the cause of helpless and desperate patients suffering from incurable diseases of all type-surgical and medical."

As in their above quote, they serve the cause.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
