Referendum 2020

Recommended Posts

I would like to know some of your thoughts on Referendum 2020, I recently seen youtube videos of Protests spreading awareness and even a Protest in India, on their main website Indian Protesters are getting beaten up severely, and now it seems that Referendum 2020 is getting noticed as I seen Posters in my local gurdwara.

I doubt that in 3 years Khalistan will be made, there would be many internal disputes to be resolved first, what would the Government be made up, the laws, the police and the military, the trade, the Punjab Water crisis, currency and etc.

If only India didn't have a Rothschild central bank, then there might be a possibility of destabilising the country and splitting it up into smaller ethnic states. As it stands, India is nothing more than a puppet state of the West. It's protected. Forget independence and the myth about Indian democracy, it's rubbish.

Why 'Khalistan'?

I have never understood why Sikhs want to a name which will make others associate us with Islam/Muslims even more

The 'stan' suffix is a meme nowadays; it's a joke, and we still don't get it. There's even fake countries (long story) called Kekistan, Normistan, and Cuckistan!

Before we can think about independence we must think globally, even America had allies when they were fighting for independence and they were the same religion and race as the British, we on the other hand aren't the same religion as the Indians, and debatable that we aren't the same race, (though most reasonable people would say we are genetically similar), and we don't have global allies. Also we care too much about purity to be taken seriously in the global market. Compare this to Pakistan and India independence and they were both made independent by liberal Hindus and liberal Muslims as their leaders. Finally O.P. independence never happens from referendums, it only comes from 3 choices:

1. Sacrifice and Shaheedi.

2. Get on your knees and beg for independence, (this is how Canada became independent).

3. Financial collapse of nation you want independence from, (this is how every post-WW2 colony seceded from the European-owned colonies, that they just gave-up after there was no benefit to them).

I don't see our people doing number #1 and #2 in a high enough percentage and #3 will not happen unless India is in a major war that could lead to financial collapse, (don't see that happening in the next 3 years)

Punjab seems like a good name, but the general idea is a Sikh homeland, but that's beyond the point, as sad as it is to admit our people in Punjab voted Arminder and Badal so many times it's like we are being played for fools. Even our Jathas don't even know who the allies are.

Khalistan 2020 movement? I have no idea what they hope to achieve. I suspect very litttle if anything. Most Sikhs in punjab and India would love to see a separate sovereign nation state khalistan established but recognise that India's army and government wont give it up democratically or peacefully and would resort to genocide of those communities seeking freedom as it has shown from 1947 onwards.

We need to look back in Sikh history especially military history and current geo-political sphere. Then we can as a kaum can understand how viable Khalistan is.

So we look at Sikh military history, how did Sikhs gain kingdoms of self rule and eventual an empire? The answer is they came about during periods of huge instability and political fluidity in south asia between rival powers of the day so you had the muslim mughuls ruling over northern india then you had the persian muslim invaders smashing into the mughul empire and eventual afghan empire smashing into the persian empire and the mughul which gave rise and opportunity for the Sikhs to regroup fill the vacuum and create pockets of self rule after smashing the afghan muslims in war. Then ranjit singh was able to consolidate rule of 12 misls into one larger Sikh empire collapsing the remnants of what was the afghan and mughul empire over punjab and surrounding area's.

So in present day circumstances if we look at the Indian Union and Pakistan both are nuclear armed nations and both will not give up an inch to Independence movements with both countries either through the ballet democratically or by physical war.

So how is Khalistan is to be liberated and established on the world map? Well there are 2 ways that it can be done but it is long term strategy.

1) Demographics is key - start to create large families strongly educated in sikhi and convert non-sikhs to Sikhi either through force like the times of banda singh bahadhur (religious cleansing) or concentrated parchar efforts like times of the Guru sahibans.

2) Wait for a major superpower to attack the south asian countries (indian and pakistan). Either America, China or Russia even Iran if it can start a major war with say pakistan or china with India then the army numbers will be wiped out or occupied with fighting the regional military force while insurgent armed groups seeking Independence can take advantage and get their political power by force.

Are you sure this is true? I doubt it. And you agree with it?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
