Disgusting fight in New York Gurdwara in Guru Sahibs Hazuri

Such a shame for our community.

What was the fight over, and who is that old man in the light yellow turban who started the fight punching somebody sitting cross-legged? Also what Gurdwara?

New York Gurdwaras have had famous fights before back in 2011 and 2005. I believe this one in Richmond Hill, has also had them before  The other one with trouble was Baba makhan shah where the kirpans were drawn and Singhs were attacking with chimtas and shennas from the stage.

Disgusting,... and then we expect NYPD to show respect.

Apparently, this behaviour is nothing to be ashamed of according to some. It's all part and parcel of our rich religious and cultural heritage.

Can somebody name me a moment in Sikh history when one of our Guru Sahibs were present in the darbaar, and the sangat kicked off in this manner? I'd seriously like to know if there's any truth in the above assertion.

Its just funny that the guy with light yellow turban, got up, did a little ardas and matha tek to Guru sahib, and then went on to start the fight.

This is the Sikh Cultural Society Gurdwara in Richmond Hill, new york.

I would imagine that the Gurus darbar would have Armed Guards. So even an external person ( not a sikh) tried to cause trouble, he would have gotten good shittar right there and then outside the darbar.

But I wonder if Gurus had armed pehredars from 1st to 5th Jot ?

From what I gathered, yeah they did.

I know its a sickening sight but the whole aftermath with everyone running around made me laugh a bit, While a couple went to break it up, you have that one guy who just went "nah im out of here" and bolted for the door.

Could it be that these fights are mostly started by indian government non-sikh agents?

Any Sikh with at least w braincells knows you do not fight or start beef in a gurdwara unless you want to be shamed worldwide via CCTV or beaten up real bad by the sangat.

So most of these guys who start fights clearly dont have any respect for Sikhs or Sikhi or Guru's darbar they must be excommunicated as non-sikhs, publicly named shamed and beaten to an inch of their lives.

We have witnessed dozens of these incidents in recent years and if the impotent cucked akal takht jathedhar and western gurdwara commitee's wont take armed action against cowardly giddard culprits (who start physically assaulting people in gurdwara) then sangat must take action in my view they are at the same level as pedophiles, and terrorists.

Yeah as if he's getting ashirwaad before going to battle 😤

What about the elderly one without his turban but still holding his coat, does a full circle and runs through the sangat to go to the front again like a kid. 😏🤔. It's not funny what's happened, but that one's like he doing ringa roses 😏. What's wrong with these elders, they seem to be the ones that started it, and the younger ones are confused to how to stop it, like whose who?

"Aayushmaan, putra, aayushmaan!"

One of these days, these guys in the U.S. are going to start spraying bullets over a committee fight. We have our nonsensical fights over the same issues here, but our American cousins are going to take it to the next level.

The worse bit is, after trying to get blessings, he takes his glasses off and think he goes for the wrong, and then goes for the other one next to him 😏. Oh no wrong number, "tanu nai marna c, sorry". What a flippin joke.

If you've noticed, these fights, arguments only occur when there is a lot of sangat or on particular days. Makes you wonder why can't they pick them when there's no sangat or outside of the Gurdwara, what are they trying to prove to sangat? All it takes is a simple meeting and sit round a table. It's a big shame those elders are running around fighting in front of Maharaj ji and making a joke of sangat and of Guruji's home.

Sangat need to feel safe in the Gurdwara. I can't see the elders doing anything positive, it's the youth that need to put them straight, but they don't like being told do they, because of their egos and think that youth should only respect them. Some of these elders don't want to get out of their stupid fights, but yes this needs to be sorted, as already kids are losing respect of elders, what with the generations changing and it gives the good ones a bad name.

These fights have always taken place, perhaps due to our lot being uneducated and conflicting views and greed too.

However because of our technology we are able to capture these live and broadcast them worldwide.

Elders definitely want to control operations however simple they may be. Two examples I can give is me having an experience with a live argument going on between the satsang group - who was being criticised by a lady when they were actually performing satsang and they were being warned to put all the maya they will get into the golak.

Another one was a lady who had  a go at me because my dad handed me over the cash for the pathis.

Got to say, some of the fighting is a bit limp-wristed. That one Singh in the red pagh practically minces his way to the front when it kicks off. Too effeminate for my liking. If you're going to kick off, then at least be a man about it. Slapping and thrashing isn't a good look. Nice closed fist to the chin does the trick. And what's with the pagh targetting? If we show such little regard for the turban amongst ourselves, we have no right to complain when non-Punjabis use the same tactics. Committees, lol. They attract some downright scummy individuals. Pretend Sikhs.

      Akalifauj, you tw*t........
    • Btw, you might be interested in this book. It's in regards to America, but could apply even more to Britain since the percentage of Muslims is so much higher: Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives have Penetrated Washington by Paul Sperry  https://www.amazon.com/Infiltration-Muslim-Subversives-Penetrated-Washington/dp/1595552480?tag=nypost-20 The most sinister terrorists won't be sneaking through our borders from the Middle East. They're already here. This is the untold story about the silent, yet extremely dangerous threat from the Muslim establishment in America?an alarming exposé of how Muslims have for years been secretly infiltrating American society, government, and culture, pretending to be peace-loving and patriotic, while supporting violent jihad and working to turn America into an Islamic state. In this powder keg of a book, you'll learn: How radical Muslims have penetrated the U.S. military, the FBI, the Homeland Security Department, and even the White House?where subversive Muslims and Arabs have received top-secret clearance. How they've infiltrated the chaplains program in the federal and state prison systems?a top recruiting ground for al-Qaida. How they've successfully run influence operations against our political system with the help of both Democrats and Republicans, badgering corporate boards into Islamizing the workplace. How we've been utterly duped about what the Quran does and doesn't teach. Sadly, much of anti-Western terrorism is simply Islam in practice, the text of the Quran in action. In a time when religious and political leaders are scrambling to smooth over differences in faith and beliefs, this book gives the terrifying truth abaout the very real, very deadly agenda of Islam and how it has already infiltrated key American institutions with agents, spies, and subversives.
    • I tried and failed to find any post by user @Commuterist that triggered the socialist party account. Do you have that?
    • First of all, that clash at the Akal Takhat keeps paying us negative dividends again and again. On the one hand, what was the big deal with letting Simranjit Singh Mann address the congregation? He had been doing it for a long time without issue. On the other hand, Mann's peeps did not have to riot, certainly not pulling out kirpans. (Or was that just the SGPC Task Force?)  Stupid. Secondly, it was not religious violence per se. I suppose it would have been if Sikhs and Hindus were going at it. It was a dispute about allowing someone to make a political speech. In that sense, the riots at Berkeley and Middlebury College to prevent speakers from speaking were Christian violence, no? Even if all (most) were Christians even if nominally, that doesn't make the violence Christian violence.

Amazing to see His grace inspire satsangat to help our sister from the entrapment of maaya.  Thank you all for such beautiful  Gursikhi support at a time when it was needed. And thank you bhenji for listening to the conscience and not your mind. He is always listening, we just need to find the ears and eyes to recognise Him. Dhan Guru, Dhan Guru Piyare
