People don't argue to prove points, they argue because the situation involved requires them to argue pointlessly. Look at some of the biggest arguments on this forum and I'll tell you 85-95% (maybe higher), have not changed their minds afterwards. Now when you bring a piece of a minor issue of a big topic people are more adjustable for a debate and may more likely change their mind, (such as whether the mool mantar ends at "Gur-prassad" or "Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach")" but again at least 80% are non-adjustable. Now when you get what the guy from Reddit posted, it's all subjective opinion which you will never truly influence anyone about. I can see he's trying to fix the #Sikh subreddit, (because it's kind of broken from learning stuff), but you'll have to do something else to fix thst forum. (Unlike this forum which is a Sikh forum and most of us are Sikh, Reddit is mostly like a real life virtual world of forums and anyone can easily find a screw-up in the Sikh Reditt if certain members do something wrong in other Subreddits.)
