sounds like the typical when the cat's  away the bibi will be a gobshite to the maa pio ... I had the reverse when the hubby's away the in-laws will be 'oh sooo lovely' BTW they probably heard a few karariya te sach shabads in return . Sikh bibis need not be cowed by nasty peeps

How is this being turned into an amusing article.  A woman lost her life over an argument.  If this old man felt disrespected, he should have disciplined his son a long time ago.  The prisoners will make sure justice is served to him.

Why always blame the women? Given Punjab's cultural tendency to vilify and malign womenhood, this comment smacks of misogyny. Given that she was a Muslim, but unless a full and neutral perspective can be established on this incident (without the religious bias) we should withhold all such comments.

Nobody's blaming women just giving good advice.

They must understand the psyche of pendu punjabi men.

Women in rural India are supposed to be obedient & soft spoken in husbands family home. It is a part of their culture.

That's why it's better to move out of family home, especially when you come from illiterate, rural, conservative, emigrant background.
