I know Sikhs are very entrepreneurial, but the rural based politics that Punjab has been playing for decades now has shot it in the foot.

We can never expect the centre to do us any favours, so we have to do for ourselves and be astute and prudent regarding maneuvers against us - the current perpetual butting our heads over the agricultural sector has become an insanity fueled by casteism and nepotism that works for a tiny minority and no one else.

We can either bring that madness to an end ourselves, and plan an alternative future or watch it die its own natural, slow and painful death and then have to raise ourselves from the ashes. If we do the latter, the impact on Punjab will be VERY severe socially and economically.

We've become to conservative over there and not adaptive and dynamic.

The centre will never do any favours for Punjab.

They have tried to screw over Punjab and Sikhs in particular since independence in way or another.

Whether it was over Punjabi speaking or splitting Punjab into three states or over the Punjab waters or the Anandpur Resolution, 1984. The list goes on and on.

Though I agree that we do not do ourselves any favours. But the centre will stir the pot.

There must be a reason for this. There are plenty of other states in India that have a problem with Delhi. But Delhi sees Punjab as it's own back yard and will clamp down far harder there than anywhere else.

Traditionally Delhi has always been the political centre and when India was attacked at it's frontier,  the political elites never bothered unless it affected them directly. I suspect Punjab has an impact on Delhi directly.

I have to add:

The reality is that most of us are 'modern coolies' when we work in foreign firms. It's an ugly truth. lol

These modern coolies are very linear in their thinking. They maybe very bright but they mostly from a script.

The thing is the pendus are far more intelligent than these over educated types in so many ways. These guys are 3 dimensional learners and are natural problem solvers (as well as being problem creators)

They are creating more problems than solutions mate.

It all depends where their incentives are. They are extremely pragmatic when it comes to their personal interests.

If they feel it is more profitable for themselves to create problems and mischief making they will do so, even if it extremely short sighted.

The trick would be to persuade/influence them to see it more profitable to solve the problems.

Or they can grow up and act like members of a civilised society.

Look at where this 'pragmatism' on their part has landed Punjab. lol

Own goal or what.

If you haven't learned to fight dirty then how would you be able to fight in an actual dangerous situation. When a group is smaller in number it's smart to not always play by some old-school rules, we got too much of a hero mentality in my personal idea to be able to protect ourselves from actual danger, (examples include letting your opponent get the first move, only use weapons equal to your opponents, and finally the worst of them all is if your outnumbered to just not use some strategy and still fight like your 1vs1).

Fight dirty?

Not sure how that fits with the ethics of sikhi

meaning not expecting the others will fight in a chivalrous manner so up the game to deal with that. A main problem has been the enemy being informed well in advance by ghadars or plain loose tongues ...what with all that lalkar mentality . Need to fight smart and in a adaptable way , i.e. multiple skills , methods latest tools .and not buy from the usual suspect as they will sell us out just like that to gain confidence of India.(lull them)

I think he is just saying not fighting some ruthless, determined enemy like a lulloo with their hands tied behind their backs. Things like sabotage, subversion, disinformation - the very common and accepted strategies of warfare.

You can't win unless you are aware of an enemies ability to employ these tactics, and able to deploy them yourselves as required.

No one is talking about mass raping women and exterminating innocent people and all that crap. Keep up mate...

Others may well fight dirty and not be chivalrous but deceit and subterfuge is not what the rahit of sikhi.. fighting for truth and righteousness is undermined by deceit.  Doesn't mean not being smart.
