Beadbi at UK Gurdwara by Muslim attacking Maharaj

19 posts in this topic

Dear Sangat Ji,

A Muslim attacker proclaiming Muhammad Rasool Allah has today attacked Sangat and angs of Maharaj at a Gurdwara in London UK.

The Muslim attacker tore angs of Guru Sahib and attacked Sangat.

Fortunately the Muslim attacker was caught by brave Singhs and handed over to Police who arrested him.

Whole incident was caught on Camera and the Muslim attacker wore shoes and burned torn angs of Maharaj with the lighted cigarette he came in smoking with.

Message to Sangat please increase security at your local Gurdwara!

I read about this on FB yesterday it was at woolwich Gurdwara but the report falsely said it was apna who did it ... Please for God's sake don't give this scumbag the mental health excuse because he knew what he was doing ... I hope they throw the book at him instead of saying chalo koi gall nahin vechare da dimag vich pharak si and dropping charges . Send the message that this will not be tolerated .

How the eff did he get as far as burning angs?!? Was the Gurdwara empty?

'Jattan' da gurdwara is in an old Church building where the diwan is in the Church and the langar is in an attached building, most times the diwan hall is quiet especially midweek , he was apparently tackled by a member of sangat so I'm guessing that Guru ji was not totally alone but minimal sangat presence was there, most sangat is older generation .

It's been said before, until we get serious about protecting Gurdwaras, these things are inevitable in my opinion. They'll increase when tensions between communities get worse.

The word going around is that the Dhesi group and Damdami Taksal followers trying to infiltrate the Gurdwara may actually have paid this individual to do Beadbi.

The Gurdwara is famous locally for its inclusive committee and Sangat which includes Gursikhs of all biraderi backgrounds unlike the other Gurdwara in Woolwich which restricts membership only to those whose both parents are declared to be from a certain caste. A lot of the Gursikh families from Ramgarhia Temple have left it as a result to join the united Sangat Gurdwara in Woolwich on Calderwood Street

there are two Gurdwarey in woolwich , the original one was a Ramgarhia Sikh Association (I used go as a kid from hackney) then the Jatts being so proud bought the church to do up as a seperate gurdwara thus the colloquial reference ...I don't believe in all that jatt nonsense . BTW Woolwich have a problem with bazurg and gurdwarey being attacked ...

There is some unfortunate misinformation being put out there regarding the Woolwich (United) Gurdwara on Calderwood Street.

Calderwood Street Gurdwara was created by Sangat from various different backgrounds (Jatt, Chamar, Saini, Tarkhan, Julaha, Khatri, Arora, Brahmin, Rajput etc) in response to Ramgarhia Woolwich not allowing those from a non-carpenter background to become a member of Ramgarhia Woolwich Gurdwara. All Amritdhari Singh's from a Tarkhan background left Ramgarhia Woolwich to become members of the new united Gurdwara when it was formed on Calderwood Street.

It is factually incorrect to falsely claim that Calderwood Street Gurdwara must be a so-called Jatt one just because the Ramgarhia Gurdwara discriminated against people.

How would JKV explain the fact that the trustees of the united Woolwich Gurdwara are Mr Saini, Mr Dhillon, Mr Malik according to her false claim of the Gurdwara being a supposedly so-called Jatt one.

Benti that incorrect info by JKV above should be edited.

Correction to the above post:

Mr Kalsi is one of the trustees of Calderwood Street united Gurdwara (not Mr Malik as per auto spelling correct)!

OK My family and my cousin's family , Mum's cousins parivars used to go , this was when I was a little one , I even did langar sewa on the inaugaral day at Calderwood ...And the thing about jatts was my folks' observations and my noticing the main families that switched ... sorry if it is not full disclosure but I was hardly of an age to become a member myself and I was not there for politics . We are from a Jatt background as were a major group of the sangat that switched , yes there were some tarkans as far as my Mum mentioned once or twice . But I have love for both Gurdwarey as they are part of my childhood.

Thank you JKVLondon Ji for accepting that Woolwich Sikh Temple (Calderwood Street) are a united Sangat comprised of an open membership of all backgrounds.

Mr Kalsi, trustee of Calderwood Street, was one of the chief Singhs who exposed the Ramgarhia Gurdwara's constitution barring non-carpenter Sikhs from becoming members there.

As a consequence the united Sangat Gurdwara on Calderwood Street has 1,000 members of all backgrounds and has pictures of Baba Deep Singh and great Shaheeds in our itihaas. Whereas in 1984 the Ramgarhia Gurdwara had a picture of Giani Zail Singh in the entrance lobby.

All Amritdhari Kenyan families are with Calderwood Street Gurdwara and there is no meat sharaab in the langar hall.

It would be good if wider Sangat can show support to the united Sangat Woolwich Gurdwara on Calderwood Street by attending. The larger the Sangat on any given day the less chance of Beadbi.

I think every Guradwara should invest in a Sikh security personnel. Normal people are not well equipped to deal with these types of attackers. Else normal youth should be given the duty to keep watch on any suspicious characters entering. In this case, if someone had been watching they would have noticed the person has not removed his shoes.

Ok but wheres the evidence that it was a muslim who did this?

End of the day whether it be a muslim or mentally unstable apna or any non-sikh. We need to ask why is there no security for Guru Ji. Is everyone eating chai and samosay and jalebi in gurdwara these days while Guru's saroop is left alone to be attacked by nutjobs.

The first people who need to be sorted out is the commitee members and those charged with Guru Ji's and sangats security and safety. second person is the actual attacker. No gurdwara commitee anywhere in the world should be allowed to keep a copy of Guru Jis saroop if they cant protect him with exercise of arms. Guru Ji gave his singhs kirpan not for show like khusray but to use for deadly effect against aggressors.

I commented on about this issue only few days ago and look what happened, it was bound to happen with stupid jatha sectarian sikhs too busy fighting each other in gurdwara and others eating samosay getting fat and useless rather than protecting the kaum and dharam.

Theres alot worse to come I'm sure because the state of Sikhs in gurdwara's around the world is shocking they too busy being ego filled fellow sikh hating thugs or lily liberal leftist cucks letting non-sikhs and mentally unstable homeless and attackers roam in to attack.

Guru Ji is giving saroop shaheedi time after time trying to wake up his people but will his people rise up to the challenges of the modern new sociology-political-economic realities.

bro it happened whilst ladies sangat i.e. buddhian  were reciting sukhmani sahib , their dhian was in the paat .. he lit up a <banned word filter activated> and then headed towards Guru Ji , the guys managed to stop him getting hold of Guru ji's saroop , he only managed to pull a rumala which caught on ang and ripped it . In the eyewitness account he did not set anything on fire ...apart from his cigarette.. CCtv was installed because like I said before Woolwich has a history of racist attacks on sikh gurdwarey and on sikhs in the streets, how ever like the youths are saying the youth need to.show up and take on these elements of sewa . You cannot use deadly force in the UK but you can use reasonable force and citizen's arrest.

Thats no good then. Why did facebook groups and sikh news websites say it was a mentally ill punjabi apna? And since the incident theres been no official news updates.

Hopefully we can find out who actually was behind this soon and serious consequences should follow to end this victimization and humiliation on the Sikhs.

    • It amazes me how people cannot see any of the above. Are they so blinded by partisanship? Is it only objectionable if the other side does it? So, doesn't that make them bigoted when they adhere to a code of silence when their preferred candidate enacts the same policy? Yet... it's also obvious that Trump is taking baby steps, and he is indeed testing the waters. What his endgame is I have no idea.
    • which gurbani lines you referring to ? please post.  Also I don't think anywhere any of bhagat, guru ji or bhatts baanis refer to women in any sexual way at all !  It is just example to help us understand jeev-aatma (often referred to as 'jeev-istree' in sikh literature) relationship with param-aatma (god) .  Since we have no inkling of what relationship to god feels like , those who have felt it have tried to pen it in comparison to earthly relationships we do understand ! and what more intimate relation than that of a spouse !  In Gurbani , at places, baani sometimes go along the lines of "Dear sister, tell me how you impressed your husband ? ... he doesn't like me, but likes you, tell me how you impressed ...." something along these lines ! and final closing line is of joy of how the wife finally impresses her husband and the typical shabad would close so ".. and then he came to bed and finally I enjoyed him ... " ..  I think I have read atleast one such shabad although I don't remember which exactly. but trust me, there's no sexual undercurrent in this shabad AT ALL ! it just helps us relate to our bodiless relationship with creator (something we don't understand) by comparing it to a relationship of intimacy that we do understand and often live !  Same can be said of krishna and gopis in hindu literature. Some say krishna had 16500 wives. Its not possible literally ! so again a hidden metaphor . Gopis revolving around krishna in play dance. Trust me, this often gets sexualized, but subtle metaphor is lost, namely that of souls (gopis) enjoying the spiritual bliss of krishna (god) and all of creation revolving around the creator. Rigveda and some upanishads mention the relationship of soul (jeev) and parbrahm as such :  "On a tree bearing multiple fruits, both bitter and sweet, sits two birds of a kind, eternal companions. One , of golden plume and luminous sits serenly on topmost branch, unperturbed and in bliss. On the lower branches, jumping from branch to branch, is its companion, who sometimes eat sweet fruits and sometimes bitter.  When it eats bitter fruits, it sometimes looks up and see its undisturbed , blissed companion of golden feathers. However , it soons forget its sorrows and starts eating sweet and bitter again .  Sometimes, again it eats bitter and this time flies on top branch , approaches the golden plume companion and when it goes very near, it realizes its golden plume is itself only, its inner-most self, the atma !"    the tree refers to body or world, the golden plume companion is the real self, the bird moving from here and there is jeev . the bitter and sweet fruits are dukh and sukh respectively which we bear in this world. When the bird goes on top branch (higher avastha) , it realizes its own self, and attains liberation and bliss, which gurbaani refers to as "mann tu jot saroop hai, apna mool pachaan"  Quite good example these seers made ! many such metaphors throughout in gurbani also.  The bigger question is "Can we believe ? truly?"
    • Exactly, it makes me kinda confused on how in some Gurbani lines it talks about sadhus leaving their wives but then they still keep thinking of women in their mind as a sadhu.. Can the same thing be said for gay people who try to 'leave' the marriage concept while becoming celibate & 'dharmic', but still think of guys? So does that not mean that they should get married as well.... bhul chuk maff kijye
    • Also you assert it took him decades to accept his ineligibility. . Please provide your sources. . How many decades exactly? Are you suggesting he wanted to create a parallel gurgaddi?
    • Now as I have qualified my assertion can you please qualify yours.. what evidence do you have that he didn't accept guru Angad Dev ji?
