would you sign a prenuptial agreement before getting married?

Seeing how marriages are not lasting longer as they used to in our parents generations. And rising divorce rates amoung western based and born asian desi's.

Is it wise to get your spouse to be to sign a prenuptial agreement just in case things go wrong and you dont end up suffering financial hardship. This question is particularly important for Sikh males as women are now able to financially earn for themselves and live independently without a man but usually the male will be out of pocket or out of a home if everything is divided equally and his wife did not contribute financially towards buying the house.

Has anyone signed prenuptial agreement? And what is the Sikhi religious view of this? Anything against or pro about them?

I've heard having a pre-nuptial agreement enforced during a divorce is entirely at the whim of the judge or whoever presiding over the case. One might be drawn up and apparently watertight, but sometimes they're thrown out.

As our people become more financially well-off as the years go by, I'd say it's a no-brainer to get an agreement drawn up, doesn't matter if it's the male or the female who holds the greater wealth.

I think pre-nups could be a way to make the marriage last longer as there's no financial incentive to separate or divorce. And the people marrying would be doing so for long term commitment and love.

In a pre-nuptial, there's usually a set amount of money or assets that's agreed beforehand to be handed over in the case of a divorce. So instead of someone taking half of everything no matter what, the agreement could be that if a divorce occurs the claiming party gets a reasonable one-off lump sum or a monthly sum that's considerably less than, as I said, a 50/50 split. I guess that's an early indicator of someone's intentions, because if he or she baulk at the terms of the pre-nup, I'd think twice before making things permanent.

Some nutters sign the pre-nup knowing full well the vows won't be honoured, and plan to claim whatever they can from the potential divorce: I guess in their mind, "Something's better than nothing." Even a pre-nuptial is no deterrent for such people.
