Many fake plastic Sikhs celebrate the New Year and some shout "Happy New Year!" but why at this time?

The Gregorian calendar is internationally the most widely used civil calendar.

The New Year of the Gregorian calendar, today mostly in use, falls on 1st January (New Year's Day). It is named after Pope Gregory XIII, who introduced it in October 1582 AD.

The term 'Anno Domini' is Medieval Latin short for 'Anno Domini nostri Iesu (or Jesu) Christi' which means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Real Sikhs DO NOT celebrate the Christian New Year.

We got more important things to do than argue about New Years and not New Year, so for the sake of this point: Happy New Year! Or: Happy Not New Year! Also Jesus wasn't born anywhere relative to the winter, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Prakash is closer to New Year and Christmas than Jesus's real birthday.

Ok can people clarify when the sikh year starts is it on Vaisakhi or some other day ...I personally think all days are equally blessed and equally important and not important at the same time : all dependent if we remember Akal Purakh or not

We celebtrate it cuz it is a new year that matters in our life. We go to a new grade, our ages go up, etc so we wanr gurujis blessings for the new things coming. Is that so bad? Also ppl can celebrate both new years, more paath at gurudwara
