Avasta - End Life

Gurfateh Ji,

Is anyone going or gone through the avasta where they just want life to end now?

Not as in suicide but asking Guru Sahib with a powerful ardaas. More due to biraag of Gurbani, Naam kamai and also experiences of life which have detached one from many worldly things.

I will add more to this if any Gursikh piyaara can relate.

Not due to high avastha, or to suicide, but yes to life experiences detaching from worldly things.  I can't reply from a Gursikhs or Gurmat point of view, only to my own life experience, when there comes a time, where you've seen all the relatives and friends play and due to own karms, you've seen the lowest negativity you can get in and you think to yourself God's name is the only thing that really matters, that helps one to go through the journey of life, which include good and bad phases. And then you think beyond all the la la laa, what's everybody running around for, eh v hojave, oh v hojave, when nothing's going with nobody, neither materialistic, neither stubbornness, neither jealousy, nor Ahankar or anger or maya, or time.  Time is the most valuable I've realised to do it in the present, what you need to do.

I see it as a blessing from Guru Sahib as not many can remove themselves from attachment of things or people.

I have been going through this for quite some time now. Around 5 years ago I began reciting Salok Mahalla 9 several times daily. Dhan Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Sahib's bachan have been hitting me so hard since then. I often recite one line throughout the day when looking around me at things, objects, people, the world "Jag rachna sab choot hai, Jaan layo ray meet". 

I feel I want to leave this world somehow. Had this very strong feeling for many years now.

It's not easy. Some people fly through their journey with ease, according to their karams.  Others, find it difficult, which many times as I have. It all depends on how bad one has it and the main thing is we can't do anything but stay in Hukam, and when we are able to, change what we can for ourselves and others. 

When I feel I can't cope, I sometimes listen to:

ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤਿਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਹੋਵਣਾ ॥

जिउ जिउ तेरा हुकमु तिवै तिउ होवणा ॥

As is the Hukam of Your Command, so do things happen.

Rather than detaching myself from the world, I try to find ways round whatever is an obstacle or not is as expected.  This is because we are not meant to run away from the world either into the mountains to cut ourselves off completely. The good thing about Sikhi is one can recite God's name and sing their praises whilst within the world and amongst different souls. 

This life is the best chance we have to do that, and we need not detach ourselves from the world, as that will happen when we leave this world anyways. So whilst we are here, I think to myself, do it now in the present as you don't know what's round the corner. Collect the real wealth that is going with us, when our souls leave. 

These two shabads I like listening to, to remind me of why I'm here.

Brother ,

the fact is, the soul always has a pull towards its origin, Wahiguru Akal  Purukh.

It is only that sometimes the mind is in higher mood, so we become conscious of our reality somehow, that we are in an alien land to which we do not belong.

Our desh is Sach Khand. Our zaat/kaum, is Satnam.

But in order to be more regular with these higher vibrations, Gurmat advises us to do bhakti at a regular daily basis; then with this prem dee jugtee, our mind gets purer and purer gradually.

Then there comes a point, that with His grace and our efforts (bhakti), we become more spiritual wise, and have more clearer and certain, that in our lives if there is any priority, that is Akal Purukh, and everything else is secondary.

That is all His beant wadeeayee.
