This time i will have small children with me and wondered what is the best option these days, anyone been recently? any advice on travel and accommodation? it would be nice to stay as close as possible to Shree Hazur Sahib.

your help will be much appreciated.

I went to hazur sahib this year and train from Punjabi is amazing if you have ac class tickets. I think it's a hundred dollars for a person but it's really good. You get on at night and reach hazur sahib the next night. For rooms you can go to langar sahib and talk to Sant Baba Narinder Singh Ji there and he will give you rooms. Its really close to the river so in the morning you can see the Sikh sangat getting water for takhat ishnan.

When I went we had two small children and a few elderly and the train ride was the best option.

Hazur sahib is a really amazing place.

Wow it only took 1 day? I visited there this year from Punjab to Nanded through the (ac class) train and it took almost 3 days.

Three days? That's a lot! I got on the train from Bathinda at 6 pm and reached Hazur sahib at 11 pm of the next day.

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh.

We took a minibus (some seats were taken out at the back so we could sleep) and had two drivers. We could stop for toilet / food breaks as and when required.

Drivers charged 75,000 rupees (includes toll taxes, fuel and travel to local gurdwaras around Hazur Sahib).

This option was taken as we couldn't get train tickets.

Accommodation - there are flats close by (the room had 5 beds plus bathroom / shower) and balcony view of godavari. This was provided by the gurdwara.

Hope this helps.
