The UK’s latest Sikh religious and cultural channel, Khalsa TV has been morphed into simply, KTV.

The channel’s licence on Ofcom has also been changed accordingly. While, the licencee name remains ‘Khalsa Television Limited’, it will broadcast as KTV. Based in Birmingham, KTV will broadcast religious, as well as Punjabi family entertainment shows.

Khalsa TV has begun testing off the Sky EPG ahead of its official launch in December.

While details remain sketchy on the channel itself, it is expected to join the race of Sikh religious and cultural channels already available in the UK market. Khalsa TV will compete directly with The Sikh Channel, Akaal Channel and Sangat TV.

The video and auido tests of Khalsa TV usually indicate an official launch of the channel is around two weeks away.

Will be interesting to see how it differs from the content of the existing Sikh channels. It will be good if they don't show the same live broadcasts at the same time as the others do.

In order to compete they should produce & cover extra ordinary programs.
