i was heading to sleep thinking guru ji and his shaheedi faujaan are ang sang - then i wondered, when one gets darshan of guru sahib, what age are they? I mean to say do they look as they did at the time of their joti jot/shaheedi....or are they much older now? Or younger? I know once they merge into akaal purakh they are timeless - but just a curiosity brainwave.... is the darshan form of shaheed baba fateh singh still 5 years old? Is the darshan form of guru gobind singh still in their jawani? And that of guru nanak dev ji and baba deep singh in their elder years??

sorry it's a weird question but ive never thought about it and now that it came to mind its got me so curious!! For those who have had darshan/know ppl who have had darshan - any input?

guru kirpa karan that I may have darshan one day

I would say that it depends on what your sharda is at that point in time. Since we attribute Baba Fateh Singh Ji to be young they will give darshan young. However in millions, one will get parthak darshan. Just look at a gursikh with the bhavna that they are a saroop of guru sahib and you will get darshan daily! If that is not possible then look at your kes or kirpa with pyaar and faith and you will see guru sahib staring back at you! If not amritdhari, then do panj bania, tie a dastaar and stare in a mirror and you have Guru Gobind Singh Ji staring at you and smiling at his son!!

Who knows where baba fateh singh is now, he may have reincarnated on earth.

I've had darshans of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and he looked how does in the photos, except the place he was in, the colours and lights were so vivid and stunning.

Darshans are to let you know you're on the right path/ to give you messages etc. Mine instilled a lot of faith and love in me that I'd rarely, if ever felt before and gave me messages, as well as making me understand I was on the right path.

There is this sakhi:

A family had SGGS saroop at home and didalot od seva and had alot of sharda. However they had a really small bad for gurus sukhasan. So one day their little daughter was in the babas room. And the 10th guru appeared on the bed n tried to sleep, but clearly the bed was too small. Then disappeared. The girl ran to tell her parents n they rushed to get a bigger bed that day. When asked how the guruji looked, the girl said just like the picture. And thats so she could recognize guruji. Guruji will appear in watever form u have sharda in. If u ask to see their real form ,you can see that too. Also guru gobind singh ji as baala pretam gave darshan as krishan to a pundit at patna sahib

where did u hear that Sakhi?

Another example is easily Bhagat Dhana Ji, Akaal Purkh came in the form of a male to help him out.

It was not darshan of krishna in any case.

Pundit shiv dutt was a devotee of ram chander who dwelt on the banks of the ganges. The sakhi is that he reached the river one morning as usual to perform his ablutions and worship when Bal Guru Ji was already there. He was entranced by Guru Ji's glowing (noor) face (chehra) and realised that Guru Ji was the one he had heard about. He said to Bal Guru Ji that he had heard him perform many miracles but he had not had the fortune to witness one himself. He asked Guru Ji if he could show him darshan of his chosen deity ram chander. Guru Ji smiled and asked him to close his eyes and go into his meditative state. What the pundit saw was that the lord of ram chander was standing right there in front of him. The vision of ram chander coalesced into the form of Bal Guru Ji.

Pundit shiv dutt's doubts were removed. He touched the feet of Guru Ji and bowed his head in humility. Guru Ji placed his hand on the pundit's head and his many lifetimes of worship finally bore fruit. He gave up idol worship. He became an ardent devotee of Bal Guru Ji and a devout Sikh of Akaal (Waheguru). It was on this humble Sikh's instructions that Raja Fateh Chand Maini later famously sought Bal Guru Ji's blessings.

You have to have Paap to be in the cycle of reincarnation. The Sahibzadeys whom the Khalsa calls brothers, have since left the world and will not come back. The only exception for someone to have come on Earth without any previous Karam was our Guru. (The Sahibzadey have been Mukt and won't be born into the cycle of reincarnation).

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
