So during amritvela last night I started my naam simran and about 30 mins into I could feel a pull in the middle of forehead. Then all of sudden I start spinning like the conscious in my head is spinning. And I'm still repeating vaheguru, it felt very good and very uplifting but my question is.. is this normal and does this mean I'm progressing ?

It's just an experience, maybe you are growing maybe your not, we really don't know, but when Daas was pre-Amritdhari there were sometimes when Daas would feel stuff from Jaaping Vaheguru in the Sangat and alone; however, these experiences highly encouraged Daas to improve. Progress comes from Gur-prassad, so if you believe you are progressing, your not, (sometimes Daas would get the feeling that Mukti had already been attained; however, once that attack of Haumai comes, we all realize what's really going on).

Read bandginama by bhai raghbir singh bir on vidhia.com

He talks about the different stages of simran and he tells u where u can get stuck and which stages to avoid and which r really just traps

Also take a hukamnama from SGGS and ask guruji wat is happening? Is it a good thing? Am i progressing? And wat should i do now? If u dont have access to SGGS jis saroop then do ardaas and take a cyber hukamnama on sikhnet or sikhi to the max. Just google cyber hukamnama

Thank you all for the responses! It' was the first time I ever felt anything like this, it felt like pure bliss! I'm no amrit dhari/ nitnemi singh either just a normal sikh. I've been meditating for the past 4 years on and off! Now I'm committed to it and made it a part of my life. However I do sometimes freak out cause I meditate in my room where it's pitch black and I've read how ppl see entities when they meditate. So I don't know is it safe for me to keep going? This supernatural stuff kind of freaks me out lol I'm trying to muster up some courage too but it's always In the back of my mind.

If yall can shed some light on this topic it'll be much appreciated!

Keep going and grow with Guru Sahib. At the very least do Japji Sahib each day; (if that's too hard, then do some other Paht). You may be growing, you may not, but with Guru Sahib your growth will be guaranteed, (though Raas is not always guaranteed), Keep doing the Bhagti!

Brother I will alawys say, do not pay any attention if any entity appears, maybe gods, godesses, or prophets may appear and say, come we will guide you....

You just ignore all this stuff, and continue non stop with your simran, cause we are to merge only in Wahiguru, and it is this very Simran alone, which can ever fulfill this our purpsose.

The Bani beautifully and in simple words tells us: Jin Har japeeya se Har hoeeya. This is the key of our union with Him.

Third Patshahee tells us in Anand Sahib : Naam jiskay man vasseya, vajeh Shabad ganere.  This means, once our mind is stilled and filled up with his Simran, then the Shabad, the Naam, gets "pargat" within us. It is then only, we can see the Jot of Wahiguru, and be pure enough to hear that Anhad Shabad within us.

No matter how many other tricks, methods, manmat, or our own additions as seen and heard of what others do, but ultimately, it is the Sat Bachan of Guru Jee alone, which is to attract His Daya Meher on us, and thus, our merging in Him.

Sat Sree Akal.

P.S: May His blessings be upon you, so you may go further and farther...

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
