Women in Bana Wearing Dupattas

I am a Sikh girl who has recently started wearing a Dastaar. I chose to do this as I wish to live in the bana that the Guru set for us. I am also Amritdhari. One question came to my mind... Is wearing a Dupatta/Chunni required if I am wearing a Dastaar. From my belief, Dupattas/Chunnis are meant to cover hair as a sign of respect for the Guru. Wearing a Dastaar permanently takes care of that. However, I see several women that have Keskis, yet they use a Dupatta/Chunni to wrap it around their breasts/bust. Is that the whole point of a Dupatta? To simply cover one's breasts? Women without keski/dastaar are often just covering their chest with a Dupatta/Chunni yet have their heads uncovered. Defeats the whole purpose... So simply put, is it preferred for women in Gurdwaras to cover their breasts over their hair? And if I am wearing a Keski, then is it preferred if I also wear a Dupatta/Chunni to cover my breasts? I would be grateful if someone could shine some light on this issue for me. Thank you.

if your body is covered to your neck i.e. not low cut neckline  and your kameez is loosely cut I wouldn't worry so much about the dupatta as your head is covered . However as we all know most suits are form fitting and when doing things like matha tekna and bending to pick up something a bit more is revealed than we would like so to preserve modesty a dupatta is wise , occasionally comes in handy too for wiping a brow or kiddies tears . Just go according to what you are wearing and what you think presents a modest image in Front of your Guru Pita

As long as you are dressed modestly, wearing a chunni is not necessary. I personally have never worn a chunni, never will. A Dastar is perfect enough for me.

There is no Hukamnama that requires the wearing of a Dupatta.  Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave a Hukamnama in Nander Sahib (52 Hukams) for all Sikhs to tie Dastaar.  Sikh Rehat Maryada says that a woman may or may not tie a Dastaar, but that her head must be covered at all times.

Don't go by my word try both options and see which gives you spiritual high !

Guru Gobind Singh Jee looks the most dignified and graceful, and he does that without wearing a chunni. 

To OP, just do what you feel is right for you.

Actually, Mata Gujri Ji also look graceful and dignified and DID wear a chunni. Just saying that statement above makes no sense. The whole World knows that Guru Gobind Singh didn't wear a chunni!! Have some satkar your sarcasm is out of order. Do whatever but don't use Maharaj in this way.

I'm not using sarcasm.

Guru sahib still looks the most dignified and graceful to me.

It's not the chunni that makes someone look that way, it's the character and qualities.

Seriously?  Yes chunni/duputta is very important. Purataan bibiyan wore it and so should we. There are many reasons as listed above. Going in darbar infront of guru granth sahib ji you need one. You need to cover yourself up. Just because you dont have bad thoughts, doesnt mean you are not tempting others on it. Itll be on you at the end. 

Every bibi wearing dastar needs to have a duputta when wearing a suit. Plus, suits look totally awkward without ones anyways
