punjabi - english

However you have to use word per word.

Good thing Gurmukhi is phonetic, altough in a couple of centuries the punjabi language will not be phonetic.

why you think suddenly people will start spelling or speaking differently so that gurmukhi will be surpassed ?

At work I have this colleague who is a linguist. I told her that Gurmukhi/Punjabi was fully phonetic and she told me that alot of languages were more phonetic decades before. But because of loanwords from for example english the phonetics in a language starts too change.

Basically more loan words = less phonetics.

However I make a distinction with punjabi and Gurmukhi. Punjabi is punjabi, gurmukhi is very huge mix with alot different languages including punjabi.

Gurmukhi will be the same. Punjabi will change.
