Dear brother - you went through tough time and now your soul is questioning the purpose of the human life. This is a very unique thing to do but not many get this realization until they are close to waheguru's calling (old age). As saying in punjabi, if one get the religious calling early in life then that soul has perfect chance to mend their life and in my opinion this happened to you. Naturally when we go thru any difficult times, we always seek god. You are trying to understand about sikh dharam and i believe that you should start a religious practical journey. Waheguru jee was with you during the tough time you went thru last year.

As gurbani says, "Take one step toward him, he will take thousands step to reach you." Start with reading Guru Granth Sahib ji online. Learn punjabi. Help others. Slow journey but fruitful in the end as waheguru ji wishes.

Singh Ji,

I'm no high spiritual soul to advice you on why it happened, but from your writings, it shows that Waheguru graced you and wanted to save you from the bad that was to happen. You are very lucky and yes you are alive, because we are reading your post ?  So don't doubt that, but I understand what you mean. You just have to keep confirming as it feels too good to be true, considering what you went through.

Accept it as Waheguru's Hukam, you are not going mad, but be happy of God saving you. The reason you already know why and don't stress, just take it one day at a time.

Regarding the physical side of it you mentioned the markings on your body etc. I had the same thing with me too, the same symptoms a year later from a very bad episode I went through once where all hope was given up as things were so bad. So I'm not sure why this happened, I would be interesting to know as to why.  Or it maybe a coincidence symptom, where the mind remembers certain situations, especially traumatic or deep ones which would cause a physical reaction to the body.

It is important for you though to get help with what you went through, as you don't want it to affect you mentally if you feel you are having obstacles in carrying on.  There are some relaxation methods on the internet so maybe take a look at them, or whatever helps you to relax if you are anxious be it Gurbani, relaxation methods, fresh air environment, with family and friends. But above all, keep faith in Waheguru, the one that saved you.

Not only was Guruji sending you a message but thank them for saving you, through however they did.

If it is possible see a high avasta Gursikh who will be able to answer your questions.

GUEST SINGH

Hi I had to reply to this, I dont know if I can help you but I wanted to share my own experience.

I am now 37 but this particular event happened around 20 / 21 years old.I was at university at the time but living at home, i was always a heavy sleeper and my Mum would usually come to my room to wake me up.

This one day I was asleep in my bed - but I was'nt.  My body was asleep in my bed like usual but my spirit was in the lotus position - like when we sit in the Gurudwara.  I was fully aware that I was in the position outside of my body, it was like once being out of my body I had other senses and a greater sense of this different type of awareness that I would not normally know.  Anyway while in this out of body state I could on a spiritual level feel my Mum wake up and actually know what she was thinking - I could sort of hear her thoughts, she was getting up out of bed to see if I was awake and as she was coming close r to my door I could here here thoughts (on a spiritual level) - as she was coming closer to my bedroom door she was thinking to wake me up as she sort of knew I was still sleeping.  I could sense all this in her mind without any physical communication between me and my Mum, then as she touched the door somehow my spirit / soul was dragged back into my body and as I went into my body I could feel a sort of scratching sensation all over me as I entered my body fully.  When I entered my body my Mum opened the door and I was instantly awake and before she said anything told her im waking up now.

Anyway that day I just got dressed like normal and went to Uni and just carried on like normal.

Somehow that experience that I went through felt normal to me, I think i have been through such experiences before and just forgot about them.  But one thing did stick with me, the total belief in the total fact that there is something else out there apart from this dimension we physically live in - I would just know this and be totally comfortable with this.

I did'nt get all religious or anything, I have been a trim Singh all my life.  But there were phases before and after this event due to personal issues I used to do the Rehraas Paath with devotion.... I always noticed that when doing so regularly my life would be better, plus I would have this sense where I would just know the outcome of something.

Anyway, fast forward some years and my Father passed away due to a cardiac arrest, was rescucitated and brought back.  My Dad never awoke from this coma has his heart had stopped beating for 20 minutes and he had sever brain damage, he died that same week.

This event made me start reading into near death experiences, people that have had cardiac arrest (where their heart stops for a duration) and then get brought back sometimes tell stories afterwards detailing shining bright light and seeing dead relatives or seeing some energy that tells them to go back...  Anyway I read about these experiences which also included out of body experiences, like the one I had.

It seems lots of people have them, some people change and become devoted to God as they themselves have had concrete proof of another dimension that exists.  I fully believe we have other dimensions which is also backed up by our Sikhi, the soul does not die we just move on.

Many people that have had such experiences start experiencing new senses or weird things that occur without any explanation.  One thing that I remember after my out of body experience was that everytime I would simply walk passed out home computer it would start up or turn off (if already on) - I never thought anything of this apart from something being wrong with it - this went on for years, I even took the PC back to Curries and no fault was found.  But after my Dad passed away and I read into other people experiences it seems that issues with electrical equipment / items is common - they either done work or do not function like they should do for people that have had this out of body experience.

I live my life normally with a full belief / knowledge that we have other dimensions and that we are here to do seva of humanity - I still have not done any seva I am in the process of kickstarting that chain of Seva....   I sort of know my role in this life and world, I just know it - it is to do seva of humanity and of our Sikh people affected by hardships.

I dont know if any of this is related to what the original poster went through, but wanted to share what I have been through.  I believe that I am very lucky for experiencing this and have realised what I must do in life, the original poster will soon also know what he / she needs to do.  It will come with time and you will reflect on this experience to make the link.

Sorry if this sounds weird, it all happened to me and wanted to share this with you.

Brother Guest Singh Jee,

you are not mad.

I would advise you to not analyze much now, but with each step be grateful to Him, for giving you an extension of life. in order so that you see the invaluable importance of life, and moreover in the human form.

The Bani says: bhaee parapat manukh de hooreeya, Gobind milan kee eh teree bareeya. Do your worldly duties as ever, but give the rest of your time to Sachay  Patshah Wahiguru Akal Purukh, to whom we all, owe our very existence.

So if He is our objective in this human birth, then let us ask ourselves, what to do, in order to achieve that highest and noble goal.

The Bani says: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. Do His Simran regularly if possible in the Amrit Wela, at 3 am, as much as you can, plus oothandeya, bethandeeya...means, mentally at all times.

Life is short and uncertain, but if you hold on to His pallav, through His Simran, then what to say about us, but even the  rusted iron is ferried across.

Sat Sree Akal.

Bhai sahib ji, i havent experienced such stuff personally but i knew some froends in usa who have these sort of experience.

one is a lady of about 40 yrs, she is white, she told me when she gave birth to her daughter, she was died, and then she say an white light and angel, and then she came back to her body

and after few hrs, her family nd docs told her that, u were almost died, ur hearbeat was stopped and docs were almost hopeless but ur heartbeat started again after 4,5 mins, its a miracle.she told me that nobody beleive her now.

i have read many books by white authors, ur soul can leave the body is 4 ways:

1. NDE near death experience, the exact one that you felt, this happens when ur physical body get too much damage or fractures( like in serius accidents, or giving birth to a baby or any other serious body damage)

in such cases body cannot able to operate further and ur soul gets out( as ur body become unable to hold soul)

but ur time hasnt been come yet, so ur soul comes back to the body, nd people says wow its miracle, how can he survive in such a bad accident.

2. Via super conciousness, like brahmgiani and deeply meditated persons, they can get their soul out, leaving behind the physical body, nd come back very easily.

only very very high awastha saints can do this.

3. Real death, its when u really die finally and soul never comes back to body again

4.  Last is the astral projection, its practice, u need to practice to make ur soul out, look at other dimensions and come back, some people can do it in one month and some in many years.

i tried astral projection for about two months, nd i was very close but i changed my job now and i didn't tried again.its a big topic regarding astral projection.

so these are the four ways ur soul can go out.

what happened with u:

u r not supposed to die that day,it was not ur death day. but body is like a container.

when u got an serious accident, ur body(container for soul) was damaged to an extent that soul is supposed to leave the body, so soul keave ur body

but as u have to live more, ur time hasnt come yet, so ur soul came back.

the saint u saw was a good positive entity( in science language) or angel(in Christains language) or farishta(in islam)or a mahatma(in our language).

but what u got after one year, red scratches etc, is not clear to me.

but i would like to say, if u r a educated man, loves to read science deeply, try to understand science, u will find nothing but only God

the more science, maths, theorems u try to understand,u will come to an end saying, wow its waheguru behind it.

there is nothing without waheguru, everything is made up of waheguru

u got a big accident, experience NDE (lots of people have experienced it, check with internet)

just do naam simran rest of ur life, thats our main objective to come here.

come to guru gobind singh ji maharaj, try to follow maharaaj jis all hukams, maharaj ji is everything and everywhere.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh

My Sikh brothers and sisters, I had a very troubling experience recently, and cannot make sense of what is going on. I post this for some spiritual guidance, and hope somebody has relevant passages from Guru Granth Sahib Ji that can point me in the right direction.

One late evening a year ago, I was in a very bad situation driving my car, I do not want to go in detail. At the point at which I should have died, I had a vague vision of seeing bright light, and I believe I saw a baba with a white beard, I want to say he was standing behind a tall podium or something like that. Its so vague now, I dont recall how long this vision was, any detail, or if anything was said. Then right after that, I had another dream or vision so vivid, it felt real- My heart jolted and I was back in my car, but I could see the passenger next to me dead, and in a very gruesome situation. My heart jolted, and then I remember seeing emergency lights behind me, and came back to reality. I was so scared to look to my right, but when I did, my passenger was now alive and unscathed.

I was not particularly religious before this event. But after the event although I am still a mona sikh, I wear my Kara more often and recite Japji sahib every day. I should have died that night, and every day I ask myself "am I really alive?". And even a few times I can almost even convince myself that I am really dead and this reality is just an illusion (very strong deja vu at times).

A strange thing happened recently on the one year anniversary of my "death". I had markings break out on my body- and inflate parts of my skin (kind of like how a mosquito bite does). I also had red scratches all over my body- like the kind you get when you itch skin too much with long nails. This has never happened to me before, and I find the coincidence to be unbelievable.

Maybe I am going mad....maybe guru ji was trying to send me a message to save my life and put me in the right direction. I dont know- but I would really appreciate the sangats advice on what is happening and if there are any passages relevant to my situation. Thank you for your time.

Waheguru Ji ka khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki fateh

Nothing. Absolutely nothing veerji. It means nothing. It's like a dream. When we have a weird dream, do we get perturbed by what it meant? It's our brains playing tricks. Near death experiences are common than you think. We all have this vision of dying and our souls moving to bright light. A gatekeeper who resembles God deciding our afterlife or if he wants us to go to narak etc etc and all that good stuff. Almost all religions have the same "story" & you have heard them all. When you had that experience, your brain prepared you to "see" what you believed in. That was what it was- your brain playing that virtual reality scenario.

When you saw your passenger dying, that's your fear. Your brain made you believe you were in a horrible accident and your passenger died.

Thst rash appearing is probably an allergy. Don't think too much into it. You and I both know NO ONE can explain this. Science and technology is still making slow progress to showcase how exactly our brains work.

There is a lot of unseen drama going on behind the scenes, everytime we are out and about. There are forces out there controlling events. The negative forces are out to mess people up and the positive try to intervene and save the people.

The negative forces try to kill people and so that their souls can be in torture, as they are negative forces which are out to bring to us suffering both at a physical and spiritual level.

When a positive force intervenes on your behalf ( because you have been saying prayers and because of your bhagti), then the negative will negotiate with the positive. Depending on your karma which is being cancelled out - your soul has been saved a lot of hard time which was written for you. (Maybe you were to pass away and then suffer before moving on and be born into something else) However a mahapurash has intervened and saved you and given you more time in this life so that you can fulfil your desires in this life. (That way your soul will be able to digest your attained knowledge better and your journey - the journey which we are all undertaking slowly by slowly towards self realisation has been lets say you have taken some extra steps because of your prayers)

However, because your deed for which death was probably written for you, has been cancelled - there is still some debt you need to pay. That debt was given to you to pay by suffering some minor bodily harm.

God sends his powers and everything is divided into years, months, seasons etc..

So that is why it is possible that the same powers came down to perform the same functions which were pending from the yesteryear.

The more path you do, the more out of body experiences you will be prone to having. The more weird things will be revealed to you. However sometimes it is best to just keep quiet and keep these to yourself. If you relate to people, then they will not understand. Your progress report will be supplied to you in the form of dreams etc which you will be able to decipher as help will always be available to you in the form of articles, people, lines from gurbani and katha in the guradwara. Your questions will all be answered in miraculous ways and your spiritual level and faith are going to grow immensely. You will also be supplied with the strength to stand up to your tests and you will be able to tell which is your test.

Our Guru Ji is always around us to protect us from all sorts of lurking dangers. The only thing required is for us to make a conscious effort to remember saying waheguru both in peace and when we are troubled. Help is usually just a stones throw away.

Communication in the spirit world does not require words. You can read the other thoughts - if you focus on them. Spirits can just look at  a person and tell their spiritual status. A person who has said their prayers will be visible with angels to protect them and will be wearing clothes too.

A detailed explanation on the spirit world....

Now the middle astral proper. Where is it? Geographically, it is exactly where we are, except that it is interpenetrating our world. Why don’t we see it? It is like the blades of a fan. When the blades are revolving slowly, we can still see the blades moving. If they go much faster, there will come a time when our eyes cannot see the blades. This is exactly what happens. The etheric and the more subtle bodies vibrate at a much higher speed than the physical body, and consequently our eyes cannot see these bodies, except those with clairvoyant sight. That means that the astral world is not up there. It is around us. In the same fashion the higher astral realm is not visible to the lower astral inhabitants. As there are innumerable grades of the astral, and as there are also the mental, the spiritual, and the celestial and cosmic consciousness and so on, the way to enter these higher realms is to increase our own vibrations to their rates. But we cannot increase our vibrations so quickly: it takes a lot of time and effort. Therefore, if one is interested to visit someone else in the higher realm, another being with higher vibrations must escort that person up. And then it is only for a limited time; otherwise, it gets too hot and stifling for that individual who must come back down to one’s own pigeonhole immediately. In crossing over from a lower realm to a higher one we inevitably come to an invisible border beyond which we cannot traverse. The air gets thinner as the vibration rate is higher. The light becomes brighter as we approach this border. Then after crossing the border, we begin to suffocate and feel faint. Then our strength fails us. At this point if our guide, who is of higher vibration does not help us, we have to return to our own realm.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
