I do not know other gurus so much...

But for me, our Guru Sahibans were the embodiment of Akal Purukh.

But we must bear in mind also, their physical body is not the Guru, as it changes with time and one day the mortal body of the 5 tattwas is left in this earthly plane, where they got that particular body.

So, it is the Jot of Wahiguru which permeates each pore of their being, while they are among us.

Refering to this matter, the Bani tells us:
Har jee baseh Sadh kay hirday.
Har jee baseh Sadh kee rasna
.

It is because of this, that even today after 500 years, they are so lovely and so adorable to us

Sat Sree Akal

Why do we worship the gurus? I know some don't worship the gurus, but many puraatan singhs do and have told me its the way the gurus set. Why?? I thought the guru was the means of liberation, not the end.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is not a body, but rather a spirit. He is not a man, but Vaheguru himself. We don't worship the body of the Guru, but rather everything he stood for. The message is stronger than what only we can see. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

But why do we not worship Bhagat Kabir, Bhagat Ramanand, or Sheikh Farid Ji. They were both merged with God and they taught gurmat principles. What makes our gurus distinguished enough to be worshipped?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Being merged with Vaheguru is not the same as being Vaheguru himself; in Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji-Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji alone is the light of Vaheguru complete and shines fully. Even if Daas or you did enough Bhagti to merge with Vaheguru; neither of us would still equal even an once of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, as he is the master of the ocean; while we are mere droplets, that would've happened to merge with Vaheguru. This is why we don't worship the Bhagats and other Mahapurukhs, but stay loyal to worship only one: Vaheguru, (if it's a confusing concept just stick to worshipping Vaheguru, as worshipping both Vaheguru and Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the same). Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

But how can a droplet of water merged into the ocean be viewed as any different than any other portion of water in it? How can one portion of water be Nanak and another portion be Ravidas. It's all Waheguru, without lines or distinctions, purely one, right?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, one that was a metaphor, second you can't compare the owner of an ocean, (Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji), to a raindrop, (everything else). By your logic we would all be Vaheguru, since he's inside everyone, but he isn't complete in anyone but Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Why do some people immediately after Jaaping the Gurmantar once become Mukt immediately, and others it takes years and years? It's because of the Gurprassad; even though helping both people, felt one was ready earlier and the other latter. The Bhagats weren't born merged-in-to-Vaheguru, but Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's very existence is Vaheguru; he came to the world as Vaheguru complete: Bhai Gurdas even says: "ਸੁਣੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਠਾਇਆ।

Sounee Poukaari Daataar Prabhu Guru Naanak Jag Maahi Patdaaiaa.

सुणी पुकारि दातार प्रभु गुरु नानक जग माहि पठाइआ ।

The benefactor Lord listened to the cries (of humanity) and sent Guru Nanak to this world.

Kali Taarani Guru Naanaku Aaiaa ॥23॥

कलि तारणि गुरु नानकु आइआ ॥२३॥

Guru Nanak came to redeem the kaliyug.

8 ਵਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ : ਵਾਰ ੧ ਪਉੜੀ ੨੩ ਪੰ. ੮" (Vaar 1 Pauri 23). Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a special creation upon the world; as he was Vaheguru himself: he never needed to be born, but was sent as a solution to humanities problems. Among all beings the Guru himself is the most unique and doesn't fit into any other normal rules. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

SGGS Ang 864 is all about Guru dhi mehma.

Your dhasam dhuar has been locked and Guru ji has the key. When that door is opened using Gurujis key then you will be able to understand God himself. Just like eyes are for sight, ears for hearing, dhasam dhuar is for feeling and connecting with God the master of the universe.
