All Sikhs need to do now is organize a central Sikh body government of Khalistan, a disciplined military force and start issuing currency and they will have the much promised area of freedom within the Indian union as Nehru had assured the Sikhs in 1946.

Sikhs had 6 independent kingdoms prior 1947 and the most active armies was the Sikh kingdoms of patiala, jind and faridkot. When the Raja's of those kingdoms gave their lot in with the Indian union thinking they can have high positions of power in the indian government. They gave away Sikh autonomy by disbanding their armies and merging them with the Indian national army.

Sikhs in punjab need to start thinking about organising themselves in the Khalistan national army and police force.

It is far from becoming a reality anywhere in Punjab. Closest chance we had was the 80s 90s when Majha area had slipped from govt control, and kharku groups were a powerful parallel govt. All we have now is rallies with a few thousand people, theyll do some jaikaaray for a few days and go home.

The task you present of creating police/army/govt is impossible for Sikhs right now, we are no where near that stage. We dont even control our own Akal Takht, yet we are too somehow wrestle control of Punjab from India?

Back then there would have been a chance to create an independant Khalistan had the Sikhs been organised better militarily. The arms they were getting from Pakistan via ISI and american CIA helped but they had no training in urban warfare or real tactics to impact against the Indian army and government.

The reason why I say Khalistan is already a reality in punjab these days is because nearly every Sikh in punjab is pro-khalistan now and khalistan does not have to be outside of the Indian Union it can be within it and be semi-automous. Back in the 80s ordinary Sikhs of punjab werent really for Khalistan they just wanted the discrimination and violence to stop by the government. But now they realise without their own nation state there is no justice or respect for them. They can see the farmer suicides, the river water stealing, family debts, female infanticides, drugs all over the place, the muslim immigrants from UP and bihari taking all the low paying labour jobs, corrupt punjab police, mafia gang crimes, etc

People are fed up of lack of fairness in society and want a Sikh state khalistan to furfil their basic needs based on the Sikh religion.
