Hammertime, Whitechapel's been the same for hundreds of years. If you read newspaper archives from the late 1800's and early 1900's you'll see there were people just like you writing in saying how "they feel like a stranger in their own land.......how there is no 'British' person to be seen......only swarthy looking Jews with beards". Nothing changes. Everything always remains the same. There has always been and there always will be , people with an irattional fear of others that look different to them. What you want to do though, is sit and down and analyse if you really want to belong to that sorry group of people ?

I think both of you are mxing diverse areas together and counting them as one as if there's no difference at all. I mean there's Hammertime going straight from Spitalfields to Whitechapel without knowing the demographics and then there's you going back to Spitalfields for your Hugenot analogy and then bypassing traditional jewish Whitechapel altogether and jumping straight iinto Bethal Green / Shoreditch/Hackney for your 'traditional white east end cockney analogy.
