Way for God  realization

Jap Jap Naam Poojae Prabh Pair ||
By chanting and meditating on the Name, and worshipping God's feet.

Anadh Roop Pragattiou Sabh Thhaan ||
God, the embodiment of bliss, becomes manifest everywhere.

Raag Raamkali Dhan Dhan Sree Guru Arjan Dev Maharaj.

Found this beautiful piece below on the net, would like to share it with the Sangat here :

"Let us for a moment talk about our relationship to God.

God is described in Guru Granth as our father, mother, brother, and friend, and oh yes, also as Husband.

What is the common attribute of all these relationships? Can we say that words such as "Support", "Security", "Kinship" come to mind? Wait a minute, the word "Husband" also evokes other gender related thoughts - until we realize the non-gender related role of the "Husband".

In the times of our Gurus, the role of the Wife was that of a home-maker, spiritual guide, character builder of the children. The non-gender related role of the Husband was to earn a living and provide for the comfort and well-being of his family. Ofcourse there were exceptions in these roles - but in general, the roles were fairly well defined.

Now let us get back to our relationship with God.

First, GOD has no gender (read the Mool Matra), therefore gender plays no role in any label we put on our relationship with God.

Therefore, - in this context, is the role of a father (God) any different than of a husband (God)? So, can we say that father and husband are interchange-able terms as regards to our relationship with God? "

Any doubts?

Humbly,

Jasjit T Ahluwalia.

CONCEPTS  &  ILLUSIONS : A PERSPECTIVE

The most outstanding wonder of God´s creation is the human mind....

An old man describes an experience going on his mind to his grandson.

"There is a terrible fight between two wolves going on in us all.

One is the evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferirity, lies, false, pride, superiority and ego.

The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humilty, kindness and faith.

This same fight is going within you and every other person too."

The grandson thought about it and asked his grandfather, which will win?

The old man simply replied: "the one you feed".

The wolf we feed will determine, which wolf wins.

The essence of Gurmat

Thae Mukath Bheae Jin Har Naam Dhhiaaeiaa Thin Pavith Param Padh Paaeae

They alone become liberated, who meditate on the Name of the Lord; they obtain the supreme status.

Raag Suhi  Dhan Dhan Satguru Ram Das Maharaj.

People  may belong to different dharmas, and each one proclaiming theirs, to be the ultimate truth. And all somehow promise liberation or mukti. But the fact is, most of us are confused at some point as per what to do, which to follow, how to know, which is the geuine dharam.

Becuase, the objective of any dharam is union with the Supreme Lord;  and so as many as dharams  exist, each one try to make us follow their rituals, ceremonies, customs...and so on, making us think that by following it, one gets liberation.

You see, if the True  Lord is one, thus the true path has to be one also. It can not be different for different people, because, that path which takes us to Him, is travelled by the soul, not by any phisycal body, nor the mind even. And the souls, in all bodies are of the same nature, as they are drops of that One Satnam Samundar, though they maybe under the false impressions, taht by being born in different places, religions, they are different. This is pure agyanta. And agyanta, is the root of evil.

So then, which is that highest path(dharam) among all of them.

Guru Jee has said,  " sarab dharam meh shreshth dharam har ko naam jap nirmal karam".

Dhan Dhan Satgur Ramdas Maharaj, is also telling us something similar above: they alone get liberated, who meditate on His Name. He does not say anything of any outer aspect, as Gurmat is for the soul.

So, in simple words, but even then, full of gyan, Guru Jee, triy to remove our haume, our ego,  our agyanta, for which so much hatred, so much blood, so many lives have been wasted foolishly .... then too, those very stupids think, they are heros.  Maybe at the eyes of the world they may appear so, but in the eyes of Truth, they are zero, by wasting away their lives after mere shadows, and to top the foolishness, they strongly believe, they shall go heaven...not knowing they are heading to hell directly...

Such a pity.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
