surprise, the locals accepted the faith introduced

to them in the 80s and now they have carried it

through to the third generation.

A Dalit turned Sikh from Katana Sahib Punjab,

Khanna worked here for 35 years and said after

he accepted the faith, he was opposed by the

locals in Punjab and moved to Bihar.

Parmod Singh says, People doubted as first and

opposed us but we embraced Sikhi.

Another Dalit turned Sikh Sanjay Singh says,

Sikhi stands for equality and is practiced daily

with everyone eating together and on the same

level.

SIKHI PARCHAR GOING STRONG

IN MADHYA PRADESH, HUNDREDS

BECOMING SIKH, AND YOU CAN

HELP

Gurmat Parchaar will be an ongoing project but

the location focus will change every year or two.

Currently we are focusing on the village Mathana

and neighboring villages in Madhya Pradesh

where around 400 new people have came to Sikhi

and need help in understanding basics and

guidance to continue learning on this path.

Once they are trained in organizing basic duties

as a Sikh including reading Gurbani, Seva,

Keertan, Langar etc hopefully by next year, we

will go to other remote villages in Madhya

Pradesh, Rajasthan etc.

The next village coming up is Dhangar in Madhya

Pradesh where with initial prachaar 25 people

took Amrit and are interested in helping with

Parchaar in their village.

recently there was another topic on this forum called ' Sikh Farmers Finding

Success In Tamil Nadu'

http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/77743-sikh-farmers-finding-success-in-tamil-nadu/

alot of farmers are going to tamil nadu to farm cheap land. tamil nadu is very far from punjab but madhya pradesh is close and alot of migrants come from there. wouldn't it be better if these sikh farmers going to farm in tamil nadu bought land in madhya pradesh instead, it would help the local economy and its not far from punjab. also all these new sikh converts recieve alot of abuse from the locals and cant find a job because they have become sikhs. these new farmers can hire them.

it would solve alot of problems if they farmed in madhya pradesh.

A lot of 'Sikh farmers' have a very negative attitude towards such people deeming them as lesser beings. I doubt they'll be too fussed about helping them.

Hell, they are probably the people who rejected them in the first place.
