I have heard some people say Sikhism is a mixture of Hinduism or that alot of the beliefs come from Hinduism. As I have not done extensive study on this I am not able to make a judgment. But what are the facts on this?

Put it this way, imagine god gave EVERY prophet of every religion a clipboard with for eg. 10 main practices/beliefs. Only some prophets carried out those 10 duties, and gave it to humans to believe. This is y, some religions have similarities to others. This is because some religions have more of the truth than others, sikhi on the other hand is the only religion/dharam, which has unchanged/untampered scriptures, and sikhi is the most complete dharam too. This is down to the fact the gurus completely obeyed god's (waheguru) hukams, n never made the religion about themselves, and carried out those 10 practices/beliefs unlike other prophets!

Eg, those practices/beliefs r things such as being shastardhari (carry weapons), reincarnation, uncut hair, unedited body (no circumcision), 1 god only, multiverse (not universe), evolution (not adam/eve crap) etc.

Also note its "WAHEGURU ji ka khalsa, WAHEGURU ji ki fateh", n not for eg. "GURU AMARDAS ji ka khalsa, GURU AMARDAS ji ki fateh". Our gurus were servants of god and the dharam itself belongs to god. I would say 95%+ sikhs and non sikhs say that guru nanak dev ji started the sikh dharam, but thats not true, waheguru GAVE guru ji revelation underwater, as they went missing. Any1 who says sikhi is manmade, u can give them that answer there! "Aagiya pai akal ki, tabeh chalaiyo panth".."when the call/instructions came from GOD, thats when this dharam was started!".

Well, this is sort of like a puzzle. Every religion believes in god, but we have our traditions, and beliefs. Our beliefs and traditions are pieces to the puzzle of God. We are filling a piece of a time each time to get closer to god.

I have also heard this commonly by Hindus that Sikhism shares alot of beliefs with Hinduism such as reincarnation, karma. And because Hinduism is the oldest religion these beliefs must have have come from Hinduism and so Sikhism is a mixture of the Hindu faith.

I believe Sikhism to be a Separate religion that I have no doubt as the Bani came directly from God to Guru Nanak Dev jI. But what is the best answer to give to Hindus who claim this?

You could argue that Islam and Christianity are no more than riffs on Judaism, but you'll be hard pushed to find a Muslim or Christian who is happy to concede that their faith is a different shade of Judaism.
