JAMMU & KASHMIR (May 2, 2015)—Situation turned tense after the local Brahmin Sabha forcibly tried to take possession of Gurdwara Sahib Singh Sabha in Kishtwar, Kashmir. It has been learnt that some persons forbicly broke locks of some Gurdwara Sahib rooms and threatened family members of the sevadars. Belongings from some of the Gurdwara rooms were thrown out, along with religious articles.

SSP of Kishtwar has promised to take swift action against the accused and promised to arrest them immediately. Local Sikhs have termed the act of sacrilege as cowardly and highly outrageous.

2015-05-02_tirlocal_singh_wazir-355x253.A press conference was organized at the Press Club of Jammu yesterday in which Tarlochan Singh Wazir of State Gurdwara Board said that the act of violence at a historical Gurdwara needs to be dealt with seriousness. Wazir stated that yesterday, on April 30, 2015, some miscreants entered the Gurdwara after breaking locks and thrashed the Granthi.

Wazir said that violent acts have continued against the Gurdwara and its sevadars since years. He informed that a case has already been filed against one Chander Kant who has in past tried to create trouble at the Gurdwara Sahib. He added that inaction in the case allowed the miscreants to enter the Gurdwara forcibly and throw out the belongings.

The SGPC has condemned the incident and called for a strict action against the accused.

History

Guru Nanak Sahib stayed here at a garden of sidhas known as ‘Sidhian di Bagichi’ and had discourses with religious leaders. A Gurdwara Sahib was established here in 1916 later on by Bhai Sahib Sher Singh Kashmir.

Seems like there is little interest when a Sikh Granthis gets thrashed by Hindvata groups. This story should have gone viral but alas some of the Sanathan people on forums think this is Ok. The Sikh gave their lives to protect the Brahmins of Kashmir and this is thanks Sikhs get.

This is what Sikhs deserve for saving brahmins from forcible conversion to Islam all those centuries ago.

This is why there is a saying in punjabi..... you cant trust a snake nor can you trust a brahmin just like a snake it will eventually turn against you.

This attack happened in J & K where Sikhs are a small minority. We are even being attacked in Punab and we don't do or say anything. It's not about Brahmins or any other castes. But Sikhs are getting attacked all over. A few years ago people belonging to the Chamar community had attacked a gurdwara in Dansiwal. The attackers came in with their shoes on, did beadbi in front of Guru Maharaj and also changed the Nishan Sahib to their symbol which represents their artificially created man made Ravidassia cult.

Sikhs should have retaliated hard for this Maha Beadbi, but Sikhs were scared of being labelled as casteist by the leftist liberals among us (as it happened during the Talhan riots when a hand full of Sikhs fought back against Ravidassia attackers). And still to this day, Ravidassia cultists do all sorts of attacks on us openly and spread lies and hatred on their TV Channel about the Sikhs, but our leaders, Panthic Jathabandis, Sampradahs will not say a word because they are scared of the casteist label.

Im confused. Was the granthi not shastar-dhari? Bahmana to shittar ka re ha, ke apna anak da jazba muk gaya ah?

and whats gunna happen when these b*stards get caught? Oh we'll just hand them over to the police, their effin dads! (Refer to recent rajasthan case). We're a sovereign kaum. We have our own laws when the law of the land fails to protect our very basic human rights. So sad that our "shastars" have become mere decorations. Our gatray are no more than janaos, a "sacred" thread serving no purpose but ritual.

ravidassian cultists are another group of snakes that should have been left to rot when muslim invaders and hindu kings were enslaving their people to work for free.

one by one ....the people that the Sikhs had saved in history, always backstabbed the Sikhs one way or another... the reason is because Sikhs dont think much with their heads but more with their hearts, they look out for other communities while their own get used and abused by ungrateful dogs they once helped.

We need to be more like the muslims, jews and guji hindus they are tight with their money and hardly ever help people of other communities. Recently a nagar kirtan went past and some of our guji neighbours said punjabi sikhs are very generous people they give so much food and drinks for free to everyone. And then I remembered what happens during a hindu guji procession and they only give our refreshments right at the end to their own people. Which is what Sikhs should do be doing but Sikhs being daft they dont realise other communities dont care about how generous they are.... lesson in life is....you gotta look out for your own Sikh community first cos no one else will.

Except that totally goes against Sikhi and what our Gurus taught us to do.

It goes against the things they actually practiced!

I completely agree, we should be more vigilant and should protect our own better. We have failed to stick together, we always argue and fight each other. Thats the problem, there is no leadership, no combined effort to tackle problems. We need to act together to solve our problems. Would we be so easily attacked if we got together?

But we should never stop doing the things our Gurus taught us to do. Why shouldn't we share food with others? Why shouldn't we defend other communities?

Do we really need a thank you from people if we do the right thing?

Shasters against guns are not much use. The RSS regularly train with modern firearms and have added heavier weapons and explosives recently to their arsenal. They commanded and trained by ex Indian army and Police officers.

Unfortunately Sikhs get labelled as terrorists by even by our own lot if they try to defend themselves.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
