What will becoming a doctor prove? Would guru ji care if we are still trapped in these entanglements? We all could say that "I'm trying to help people" etc but does Akaal purkh really give a damn?

Being doctor is bit of double edge sword. On one hand, being in medical profession inadvertently can help you in your spiritual journey, as they see first hand what human suffering looks like on daily basis it can provide lot of bairaag, can provide deeper perspective in life that despite of best medical they cannot save- ultimately there is higher power, can give you chance to do seva of another being. On second hand, depending on perception of individual it could also open gate of power control issues, abuse issues, using patients as mere subject as their guinea pig to proof if medication/different medicine/different approach works and it can also bring massive god complex attitude in them.

So really depends on how you look at it.
